This had been my tanning salon for over a year and I thought the entire staff was great, so I wrote a dazzling review, but in all honesty, I feel that I’ve now been slapped with a bait and switch situation and after almost a month of trying to make contact with the Columbia, MO manager, Molly.. as well as customer service via phone and e-mail, and their District Manager Jamie Scott, I’ve been charged $125 vs. the $14.99 and they will not help or return a call to refund me or cancel my account. I have been more than polite and patient but as this point I’m blown away with the level of unprofessionalism and immaturity. I’m very unhappy that I feel like I’ve no option but to make a 5hr round trip drive to have this taken care of. So my recommendation would be a big no to this location. The hard truths are that it’s dirty and the store management needs a serious update. While the beds are clean, much else isn’t. The rooms aren’t swept, trash cans had to be removed to keep customers from peeing in them, and the bathroom always has some kind of standing water in it. While the regular staff is fabulous, they are only given enough training to do the basics and seem to have the same issue of more than poor communication with management. So I hope this helps someone out there and that eventually they can be professional and follow through.

I never go to tanning salons because I find they are often con artist & always try to scam me. I need a tan before going to the beach so I buy the bullet and decided to go here. To my surprise, the employees were phenomenal and provided excellent service and did not make me feel forced into anything. Madeline and Molly were helping me. They walked me through each membership and really listened to what I was looking for. They showed me the beds and helped me make a decision that was best for my needs and my skin. I spent about 30 minutes trying to decide and they did not rush me at all. When it came to picking out a lotion (which I usually don’t do) they did not make me feel like I HAD to purchase from them & they helped me make an informed decision on one. The lotion I originally wanted was actually little bit more expensive than the one they sold me…they had a deal going on with a similar lotion & they actually told me to get the lotion that was a little bit cheaper because I would get more bang for my buck! I’ve never seen a tanning place actually listen and care like they did. I absolutely loved how they really cared about what I wanted. I would assume they get some commission for sales but they did not make it seem like it. Madeline even walked back to the bed with me and explained how to put the all settings how I wanted them. The girls that helped me are college girls that were extremely professional and knowledgeable! I love seeing young driven workers really care about their job and other people. If you’re thinking of tanning in Columbia this is hands down the place to go, they are not con artist scammers like some of their competition.

I went in to close it and the business was closed for a few days so I attempted to call. I was told that it was fine then I noticed I was still being billed. I attempted to resolve it with their customer service and cancel and was told since wasn’t done in person originally they had not cancelled it like I had been told. When I tried to resolve it they continued to charge me for the next few months until finally cancelling it. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI have gone to this location for years and have been continually disappointed since it transitioned from Luxury Tan to Palm Beach tan.I’ve had billing inconsistencies on two different occasions and each time with I asked I was given conflicting information. I’ve also experienced the beds not being set correctly, so that it started before I reached the room, or never started at all. When I tired to call the front desk from my phone the line was busy, though there were two employees sitting in chairs on their phones behind the desk. When I expressed dissatisfaction they did not apologize and simply said the phone doesn’t work.The south location, which is closest to my home, also closed without warning for weeks at a time with no communication to members. It’s recently reopened without communication as well.I will no longer be spending any money with this business. It turns out they never canceled and they have been charging me since February for services I never used. The customer care line voicemail said they would return it within 48 hours I had a membership with them at the beginning of the year but decided to cancel it in February. In February, I called them to cancel and they told me that I had to come in and sign documents before it would be canceled. So I did come in and I remember signing documents. It turns out they never canceled and they have been charging me since February for services I never used. I have had a membership here for 3 years when I first started coming the beds were clean and worked great but in the last year I have reported lights out in bed 8 and 11 and I keep getting told it has been reported to maintenance which the guy lives in St.Louis and still the lights are out! This is very frustrating for those of us who pay monthly membership fees to tan in beds that don’t work properly and the bulbs are old and do not get changed!

Are you an MU student? If not, DON’T GO HERE! I’m a frequent traveling tanner with the Diamond package at PBT. Parking is metered street or garage only and limited for blocks! Clean, new beds. Even have the Angel bed!Management; training new hire about work conduct at check in desk was a bit uncomfortable, didn’t acknowledge me until I asked her directly to show me their beds. No mirrors or trash cans in rooms. Due to poor location probably won’t return.
