I would like to give a shout out to this location especially Morgan! I had some unexpected things happen during the month of June and was unable to tan. I reached out numerous times to get assistance with my draft with no response. I was finally able to make it into the salon on 7/13 and spoke with this sweet girl Morgan. She went above and beyond to help me and gave me the correct information to get this resolved. I appreciate her taking the time and want to make sure she’s recognized for that!! So many times people working in customer service get negative comments more so than positive. Coming from a customer service background I understand that completely. So just wanted to take the time to give credit where credit is due. Thanks again Morgan!! And to your manager just want to say you have a jewel!!

I feel the need to address others reviews for this location. I came here for the first time the other day and it was totally fine. I was greeted with a friendly face and smile, my bed was clean, and the bulbs seemed good. The rest of the room could have been a bit cleaner which is the reason for 1 less star. Now for what you keep seeing regarding up selling from the employees: their job is to make sales just like any other retailer. At the end of the day, it’s your decision on whether you purchase something and your responsibility to take care of your money. Don’t be upset at the employees here because you handed over your credit card irresponsibly; learn how to say no!

The rudest employees and customer service I have ever encountered at a tanning salon. The management’s number one priority is to make money off young college girls by confusing them into spending entirely too much money on useless product packages. They will ruthlessly try to sell you the most expensive option and could really care less about what kind of tanning option is best for the individual’s skin type. Super Tan offers a much better overall experience with kind and caring employees who care more about the individual than making as much money off them as possible, which is obviously Ultra Tan’s only motivation.

As an employee you will have to pay for your work shirts. Ultra Tan does not properly train you. You will be making calls to managers as you’re faced with a circumstance you aren’t aware of handling on your own from lack of training. Ultra Tan will write you up over mistakes which you will encounter from lack of training. You will have to drive to a mandatory lotion meeting which one I attended was in Columbia though they are held different locations just not always local. This Tanning Consultant Position is more focused on sales than customer service. You can be let go if you do not meet their dollar amount goal in sales. If the Manager is pushy it’s because she/he gets a percentage off every employees sales in that particular store. Manager was Victoria Dove from Anderson over the Clemson store. I witnessed her telling a college student she was getting 50% off add on’s & did not give her 50% off. She only got 40%. The manager would also talk about how the college students that worked there lacked common sense on duties. Tips from me would be pay cash verses monthly auto draft. They’re known to double draft you in same month & charge you if you cancel by them saying they didn’t get it in time. Do the versa than the mystic so you save money from nor needing add on’s. Buy your lotions cheaper off Amazon.

I’ve had a membership for 2 years at ultra tan and the one where I live is great! But the one in clemson is not, I spray tan and I was put into a mystic tan that had not been wiped down or cleaned and when I was getting sprayed water was dripping on me causing it to streak. The girls who work there are not nice.

Generally not a good experience! Be careful about various deals and packages they offer you! Also, it’s better to buy lotion and bronzer out of the store. Everything is more expensive than online stores. Long story short, do not accept any special deal or package!

Upsell, upsell, upsell! If you just want a basic tan, don’t go here! The guy tried to sell me the most expensive package, the most expensive lotions, and the most expensive eye protectors! And don’t be fooled by the advertising-there is a membership fee just to tan there, and you can not cancel after one month-you get billed for the entire year! Trust me, go down the road to Super Tan on 93- much nicer, $45 for an unlimited month of tanning (no membership fees, no cost to upgrade) and a much friendlier, less pushy staff. All I wanted to do was tan for 2 weeks before my wedding, and I will NEVER recommend Ultra Tan to anyone after the jerk I had to deal with.

Slightly pushy in selling, but I usually get in a bed or spray booth right away. It’s all about the time you choose to go. I haven’t had a bad experience thus far with the employees or with my tanning and I signed up about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

It’s the only tanning salon in a 20 mile radius in Clemson so I can’t really complain. A little pricey but it’s ok.
