I understand lack of staffing everywhere right now, but a change in Google hours would help. I left work early to make it to this location at a decent time and the doors are locked. It’s 630. A note , or updated hours would be helpful. I tried to call another location and no one answers the phone ♀️ Kinda sad that I just spent as much as I did for the month on top of leaving work an hour early to try to come.

Like everyone else has expressed, I was very fustrated after showing up about 5 times before 6:30pm and seeing the doors locked with no notice at all. At least post on Facebook and update your customers. I missed weeks of tanning because of this and I pay nearly $90/month. What’s really frustrating is I was getting ready for a trip for Hawaii so I was trying to get a base tan. I am just now able to leave this review because of that. I have not been back since before going to Hawaii because I’m not willing to risk showing up and it being closed. Furthermore, one day I showed up and a lady from corporate was there trying to unlock the door and I tried explaining to her this has been happening nearly every other day and she proceeded to argue with me and said, “I highly doubt that because there is a manager who has been on the schedule”. Based on all these reviews I hope that snobby lady finally believes I was telling the truth. Not only is this location disgustingly dirty and need serious remodeling, but the staff turn over rate makes the experience inconsistent and you will often catch yourself waiting 15-20 minutes for someone to figure out the computer to get you checked in. Seriously don’t bother coming here.

I normally wouldn’t leave a review but today I am. I went to try and tan but when I got there the doors were locked and not even a notice on the door. As I was leaving more people were pulling in the parking lot and tried as well. I understand staff shortages, but shouldn’t your company notify customers when a store is going to be closed. Is this going to be permanent? Very disappointed. I also feel like y’all should appreciate y’all’s employees better.

Customer service from Ultratan ownership is severely lacking. The post promotional offers when they want you to purchase lotions and other items, however, they could be posting and texting customers when locations are closed or closing earlier than regular store hours. Three times over the last 2 weeks I drove from Walterboro to Summerville store only to discover they were closed inside regular hours. Staffing is a problem because of poor wage offers to employees. I have spoken with at least 7 former Summerville store employees and they collectively share what they’re paid. You get paid more at McDonald’s. Now if I am not compensated for these closings while I pay an auto payment monthly, I will go elsewhere and continue trashing Ultratan.

This is the most horrible tanning salon I’ve ever seen. DIRTY, bugs!, carpeted rooms we are expected to step on barefoot. The carpet looks 20+ years old and just gross. No mirrors, no towels, so expensive. I tried so hard to avoid going here since I’ve moved here. You have to pay full price for a session then they only let you tan 5 mins even though you are clearly already tan. The bed shut off while I was in it covered in bronser naked with no towels or robes. You can’t call the desk for help the phone is always off or disconnected. And this place has bought out every other tanning salon location in the area. I might just go to planet fitness. I can’t not believe this place. I hope it’s just this location and next time I will have a better experience somewhere else. And just drive an extra 20 mins for ease of mind. But who knows clearly they delete the bad reviews bc no way all these people enjoyed their experience.

Ever since Jess left UT of Summerville they never open on time and I have wasted plenty of gas and lotion to get there and no one is there to open. I understand there might be staffing issues all over but I don’t pay for a membership except to UT!!! This is the 5th time I have gone there in 2 weeks where nobody is there! This is getting ridiculous and if I could find another place to tan I will cancel my membership and move to a better place that their employees will arrive on time at work and be friendly!

On 4 separate attempts to tan there are NO employees here to open the business. I pay too much for a membership and gas is too expensive to waste. Waited 15-20 minutes and still no one here to open the salon. This is unacceptable. Don’t say sorry FIX IT!!
