You are only allowed to redeem one free spray tan per lifetime. Save yourself time and go to any other tanning salon. Other places such as Sun Tan City let you get a free spray tan any time they offer that coupon/promotion. Do better palm beach! They also don’t have a versa pro spray tan booth at this location even though it’s advertised that they have it on the website. Only giving two stars because the workers are kind and the place is nice looking.

Let me start by saying that I’ve been a member at this location off and on for almost ten years now.. in the past year it’s been disappointing to say the least. Staff was friendly at once.. now they barely make eye contact when speaking to you. This location is in desperate need of repair work.. many doors in the booths barely close. I upgraded to platinum level membership over this past summer.. and the bed directly to the left had damage to the control panel to the point where I felt uncomfortable selecting tanning modes… the door for this booth is also the worst in the salon. It gets jammed to the point where you have to fiddle with the lock to come undone so you can exit. I can look past all of this but not what I experienced last week. I don’t tan as often in the winter so I typically don’t upgrade to a higher level. Which means I typically only got once or twice a month.. tanning for me during this time is a break from the world.. ten minutes of peace and quiet with my AirPods on noise cancelling mode. This is why I still kept my membership active. But last week I for my AirPods so I had to listen to the store manager yelling on her cell phone about how much “corporate sucks”.. and “how they can suck a…..”.. and how she can “get a better paying job anywhere”.. and how “they were lucky she showed up Friday”.. this isn’t what I want to hear when I’m trying to relax.. If you really have the opportunity to go make more money elsewhere and your job is so daunting… then quit. I don’t want to hear about it as a guest in your salon. As for her comments about corporate.. too bad. You work for a corporation and till you sign your own check, you’ll have to follow direction from the executives. This experience was the final straw for me. I visited another tanning just minutes away and was greeted with a smile and eye contact. That alone sold me.. turns out I wasn’t the first person to jump ship and I probably won’t be the last. The store manager needs to go. Toxic attitudes and failure to comply with direction from corporate never ends well and always trickles down to the experience of guests.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I have never had an issue with my results from the beds or spray tans. With that being said, I am extremely disappointed with the management of this location. This past Monday I left my engagement ring and wedding band in one of the rooms on the hooks and when I called 2 hours later no one had turned it in and it was no longer where I left it on the hook. I have been trying to reach the manager to discuss with her what more we can do to help me locate the rings for 2 days (to offer a reward, put up a flyer, provide the detective with a list of clients who entered the room after me, etc.) I have frantically called and left my name and number with multiple employees and I have not received one call or email from the manager as I have been promised. I am shocked and disappointed that management is not taking this matter seriously as time is of the essence.

I love Palm Beach Tan and go three times a week. However, I drive 10 miles away from this Ballantyne location which is just 1 minute from my driveway. I stopped going over a year ago because the staffing was so bad – but due to recently running short on time, I chose to give it another chance. I went in at 5:30pm and everything I was wary of was once again confirmed. Nothing has changed. If anything, it has worsened. When I walked in, half the lights were off, the front and back doors were propped open. There were three high school staffers running the place (or at least they all three had the Palm Beach T-shirts on). Two were behind the counter and one was lying on the reception sofa. Not a one greeted or made eye contact with me. When I told the two that I wanted to do Mystic, the one at register the (never looking up) informed me that there were three ahead of me. I was going out of town the next day and wanted to spray tan – so I said I had no problem waiting. She then huffed and seemed bothered that I was opting to wait. After paying and then sitting down – I then began overhearing their conversations and realized that the three ahead of me were the three employees. When one of them returned from the Mystic – the cashier asked, did you clean it? She then announced to me that they had decided to bump me ahead of two others. This was funny, because we were the only ones in the place. When I went to the back, it wasn’t cleaned and I can almost swear that she didn’t put the right tan in for me. Needless to say, I left with a resolution that I would never ever return.

The first time I came here I ended up signing up for a membership not knowing how it was going to be but I read the reviews and thought it’s got to be a good place for spray tanning plus I had a wedding to attend the next day and no one that actually sprays your body had any openings so that’s why I chose this place. I had white spots that were missed and spots that were darker than the rest of my body which is why I like for someone to actually spray me bc they don’t miss any part of my body. So because I didn’t cancel it on 10-25-19, now I’m screwed out of $50 that they refuse to refund me even though I told them I’ll never be coming back. Every place of business can refund your money back but they’re not doing so because they know they’re getting free money.

I’ve been with Palm Beach tanning for 3 years now. I’ve been to several locations in Charlotte. The past year I’ve been in Ballantyne. The staff and every location are professional, accommodating and friendly. Their customer service and corporate are amazing. Unfortunately I’m moving to an area that does not have PBT. But thank you to everyone that company for making my experience so positive. I will miss seeing their friendly faces.
