Oumy and her sister-in-law always does a great job on me and my daughters hair. She always fits me in when possible. I definitely will be back. I love my hair (knotless braids curled) and highly recommend. June 8, 2022. First picture was before my braids.

Not the tidiest of places, but most braid shops aren’t. Oumy took me as a walk-in, which was cool since it was the day before Christmas eve. They didn’t have my hair color, so Oumy took me to the store to get the hair and discounted the price of the service. I was in and out…no bs’ing, no long breaks or leaving to do something else…I was pleased. Some of my twist started coming out, which was expected, giving the length of my hair in those areas…I appreciated the effort to still try and braid the areas. I went back to the shop and they re-braided the areas with no problem or charge. I would go back for service.

If you got short hair definitely do not go here, got my hair done last week and I have to take it out cause it looks like I had it in for a month in a half. She claimed she could do short hair but didn’t even have the decency to just not continue my braiding my hair if she couldn’t fully blend the hair. On top of that didn’t even have my right color braiding hair. I paid 170 to just waste 4 hours of my life. Paid money that I necessarily didn’t have to just look a mess for a week. Horrible service.

This was the next place I tried after my old place had closed! I liked it at first, but a week ago I went to get my hair done and was told if I bring my our it would be 140 and I did. However, once they saw my hair which was the African pony hair and they put two people on my hair to go faster the owner changed the price to 150; and she informed me that the hair is hard to use and she is putting 2 people on my hair. As if my future business did not matter and I always give a 20 dollar tip. I’m about professionalism and good customer service bc that stuff matters. 1 week later and half of my braids started to come undone, I call thinking that they would be nice about and at 1st it seems that way. But when I got their she was talking about me in her language and was acting as if she is doing my a favor! I pay for a service that was done poorly and instead of apologizing and correcting it she didn’t apologize she was being rude while her sister was fixing the mess they made in the 1st place. I will not be going back here bc the, unprofessionalism I received I should not have. If you were unable to do my hair with the African pony hair you should have say so. Since my business is not important to you I’ll take it else where and become someone else’s repeat costumer.

coming here was truly a great experience. my appointment was set for 9 today and i was told it would take 5-6 hours to do my micro braids. i arrived at 8:30 and she invited me inside. she began on my hair and soon after someone else came in and assisted. i was fully done by 11:50 ish. (around 3 hours) which was about HALF the time i was told it would take. the shop is very clean and the owner was very kind. bring cash with you because card isn’t accepted. i have 0 complaints and my hair feels amazing. i’ll be back again in the future!

I found this place via Facebook and the owner was extremely professional on the phone with scheduling. I then got Senegalese twists that took nearly half the amount of time of any other braiding shop which was great. I then scheduled for my mom to get tree braids the next day which also turned out great and was a professional experience for her as well. We will both be returning in the future!

The owner hung up on me after I expressed my displeasure with the services provided. She refused to understand where I was coming from, nor fully understand my complaint. She told me “I don’t have the right to complain after one week” Honestly I didn’t like my hair but the young lady that did my hair was extremely nice so I just said ok I’ll let it go, now one week into these braids 8, yes 8 have fallen out!!! she said “your hair is short,” I let her know the short ones are not the ones falling out! not to mention the braids are not the size I asked for anyway.

This will always be the braiding shop i go to whenever i want braids! Me and my sister have been goin here ever since we were kids and we have always been pleased with our hairstyles. I got fulani braids today and they look exactly as the picture i showed to the women braiding my hair. I deffinately reccomend this braiding shop out of all the shops in this area they are professional and get the job done. Also they hairstyles are REASONABLY priced.

Oumy Hair Braiding is a hidden treasure in Burlington City. I have been going to Oumy for two years for my Kinky Twists. Oumy is very professional, and consistently provides excellent customer service. My twists always look great, and I get tons of compliments on her (and her team’s) work! And they work fast…she always gets me in and out as promised… Oumy rocks!
