Steven Valenzuela has a unique story that got him into orthopedic massage, his own back injury. This injury motivated him to change the orthopedic massage industry. One of my FAVORITE therapies offered alongside Chiropractic care is massage. There aren’t too many places where you can use your insurance to get a massage. Allen Chiropractic offers 2 different types of massage: 1) traditional Swedish/Deep Tissue & 2) orthopedic. Steven Venezuela is the orthopedic massage therapist. At first I didn’t understand what he was doing, as it’s nothing like a traditional massage. He typically started our sessions by pressing on my hip flexor for a few minutes. Sometimes I wondered if he was really doing anything. However, after allowing him to work on me consistently throughout the year, I realized his magic. Steven doesn’t just help you relax and unwind like traditional massage therapists do, he improves the overall function of your body. The hips & diaphragm provide stability for our bodies. I tried a couple of places in the Grapevine area but experienced a language barrier with one place and the other place I got voice mail, which turned out to be “orthopedic massage therapy” . I did not leave a message however, that evening “Steven” called and noticed he had a missed call from me. I proceeded to tell him the situation with my brother. Steven was knowledgeable, sincere, attentive to my questions and flexible in getting my brother in two days later. He did wonders for my brother- he was so patient and really took his time listening to my brothers ailments. After the appointment, my brother had feeling in his foot again and felt “balanced” whereas previous to the appointment he didn’t.
