Beauty Design and Space….. Orbit Salon, established in February 2004, brings a refreshing and relaxed atmosphere to Birmingham. Clay (owner), Peter, Kaitlin, Elle, Dylan, Trent, and Mackey are experienced stylists with much to offer in knowledge of hairstyles, color, and product! Joe and Pam are there to assist you. Orbit color and retail includes Davines products as well as, Redken Shades EQ, Pulp Riot, Olaplex, and Fatboy. Walk-in’s are accepted according to availability of the stylist; however, it is always best to call ahead for an appointment to guarantee a spot! Prices vary according to stylist. YES, about 60% of our clients’ are men and kids cuts are always welcomed!

He is so kind and so reassuring during the appointment that I feel completely safe being my authentic self, and the cuts (gender neutral undercut) and color I’ve received have been truly out of this world! Peter has been styling my hair for over 5 years now. If you or anyone you know needs an Asian stylist, Peter is the person for you. Even when Peter was on leave, three different stylists covered me and all did an excellent job. Everyone at Orbit is so sweet. The salon is an affirming space for queer folks. I appreciate that their pricing is done by type of hair style rather than gender: “women’s cut/men’s cut” is “long hair cut/short hair cut”. I was paying other salons a ridiculous amount of money for a similar hair cut that a man was getting for $30 less.
