Would not recommend to my worse enemy! The lady that normally did my hair died due to covid and the new girl in there ( somebody I never saw before) assured me that she knew all about natural hair and products. My hair smelt burnt and when I washed it I had extreme! Extreme! heat damage to the point my hair was falling out . It seemed like my hair had got a perm the way it smelled and didn’t revert back. I literally cried!! I’m trying to grow out the damage before I cut it but I worked so hard on my natural hair just for me to have to start over! Don’t go to this salon!!!

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI used to like this place and didn’t mind passing other shops to get there. I just wanted my hair washed and dried, I wasn’t in any hurry but they didn’t know that. Had me sit there for about an hour, then when the owner/manager decided to blow dry my hair she used this big clunky wooden brush and was trying to brush my hair from the roots without even detangling it. When I let her know that it was hurting and that I didn’t use that type of brush because it pulls my hair out she tried to explain to me that it was a brush for natural hair and got an attitude with me. When a customer is trying to explain that something hurts or is not working she should listen and maybe she will learn something, all hair can not be manipulated the same way and hair on a human head is not the same as the hair on the mannequin. I don’t mind spending my money but this place will never get anymore of my money, I’m all for women’s power and supporting each other, however when you are in the public providing a service please be careful how you treat your customers. I hope no one else has this experience and I hope she changes her attitude.Service: HairstylingI used to like this place and didn’t mind passing other shops to get there. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityI booked my appointment online through google, when I arrived Emily’s assistant braided my hair down. Emily informed me that the google system does not notify her when people book online but she slayed my hair anyway. She was very professional and knowledgeable will definitely be going back for installs and maintenance.Services: Hair extensions, Hairstyling

Visited this salon in hopes to get my hair blown out for the first time in five years… resulted in extreme heat damage and excessive hair loss. My hair stunk of chemicals or heat for a month and I didn’t ask for any straightening agents other than what allows for a blowout! I have just recently did the big chop because it couldn’t be fixed. Owner reached out to me for a consultation AFTER my hair had been falling out but there was absolutely nothing she could have done to repair it. Extremely upset and now bald.. But Im rocking my cut regardless.

I have been going to this salon for years. I don’t know how many times the owners have changed, but I never had any problems. I went there in November, then went last week and different owner was there. I should have considered not staying when I noticed it was only one stylist there. And there were at least 6 people in there either under the dryer or getting their hair washed. I was washed and put under the dryer. After about 40 minutes the stylist came and put on time on the dryer. I was under the dryer for almost 2 hours. When I got in the

Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityPer Covid guidelines, I called and made an appointment. I told the person that I wanted an Affirm relaxer and he assured me that they had it. It was also advertised on the online booking tool. However when I arrived, they did not have it. I had to drive to the beauty supply store to get my own. Also, the shop took several walkin appointments while I was there. There was one stylist working on a Saturday, who I’d never seen there before and I have been going for almost two years. Each time I go, there is someone new. I’m not even sure if they are licensed. She was rushing through each client. First she didn’t put any base on my scalp before I prompted her to do so and then she left my relaxer on for way too long. I had to remind her to wash it out. She did an entire blowout while it was sitting. When she washed it out, she rinsed it once, shampooed once, and put conditioner on my hair and had me sit for like 45 min while she took like three more clients. When she got back to me she tried to wash my conditioner out and be done. I reminded her that she had only shampooed my hair once and I had received a relaxer! She insisted she had done it three times but she did not. At the end my hair turned out nice but I think I may have to wash it again myself to be on the safe side because I can still smell the perm smh.Service: HairstylingPer Covid guidelines, I called and made an appointment. If you have natural hair and don’t want to lose your curl pattern this may not be the place to get your hair done. It’s been a week since I got a blow out here and washed and conditioned my hair and it did not revert back to the state it was before. I was also charged $70 after I was told the style was only going to be $45. The lady who washed my hair was really rough and scratched my scalp so hard. The young lady who did my hair had the heat setting up extremely high and burnt me few times even after I complained. The style turned out decent and my hair stayed straight for the whole week.

Overall it was a descent experience until I got ripped off. Also, the google pictures of the salon are misleading. It does not look like that in there, meaning it’s not that descent looking, and it smelled. I went today 3/21/17, it was $10 off. After the lady washed my hair, she asked if I wanted conditioner, I replied yes assuming it was the normal shampoo and conditioner that I get from my usual hair stylist. Once my hair was styled and I went to pay, the lady charged me 40 dollars. I thought it was 30$ but then her ass told me that I was charged 10$ for the deep conditioner. I told her that I shouldn’t be charged because she did not clearly specify that when she asked if I wanted condition and that service of a “deep conditioner” is an extra charge . I told her she should mentioned that it was an additional charge when she asked me. But she decided to tell me that I should have looked at the price. Her simple ass failed to realize I didn’t know what a deep conditioner was, so looking at prices would not have mattered. It would have be good customer service to not charge me considering the fact that I was a new customer, but she did not. I will NOT be going back there. My hair is nice, but there are plenty in the area that I can choose from. Goodbye bye Nola’s Dominican hair salon. The rip-off is not worth going back. She did not receive a tip as a result.

I would have given this salon a better score; however, my trim turned into a cut. I feel like I told her to cut less but she decided to do what she wanted anyway. My hair is 100% natural and I’ve been growing it out for three and a half years. So, it was disappointing looking at it and seeing how ridiculously short it was cut. I had regular split ends and my hair was not damaged. Therefore, if I ask someone to trim my hair then that’s exactly what they should do. My hair will grow back, but it will take much longer to now thanks to the trim turned full haircut I received. I left a tip out of kindness but I don’t think it was deserved. I won’t be returning.
