The shop is nice and I love Mattie , she’s a sweetheart and can do good sew-ins ! But on the other note a girl name Kara that works in that shop can not do hair ! My sister asked for box braids and the braids was to big, spaced out and ugly. My sister kindly went back to the shop to speak with her about her getting a refund or her doing it over, but she said ” What’s exactly wrong with it?” “And we don’t do refunds here” Plus my sister accidentally left her braiding packets at the shop so I had went to the shop to pick up the hair and this girl Kara had the audacity to use the rest of my sister hair on another client ! I said ” So you used the hair that I bought for my sister on another client?” And the only thing she said was like I can go buy some . I was soooo heated !!! Whatever y’all do, do not go to Kara to get y’all hair braided ! It was a waste of money , but hey you live and you learn ! Stick with Mattie sew-ins

Nice, calm environment. My appointment was at 9 the stylist kara texted me and said she was running late; I aggreed to reschedule to 10am although she was still 20 minutes late. The braids are not worth the price. It was extremely tight (tighter than African braiding) my scalp had sores for weeks. The braids were nice on the top but messy in the back and the middle. She had most of my braiding hair bunched up in a ball and said I was running out of hair so she had to make the rest big. I had enough. If she would have kept the hair neat and layed out. She seemed to keep getting aggravated and wanted to take a break more than I did. When I got up to use the restroom she was outside on her phone for at least 15-20 minutes. I was told $130 prior to my appointment all I had was 20s so I handed her $140 she didn’t ask if I needed change she simply said have a nice day. Not to mention you have to buy your own hair. I would recommend just going to the African braiding shop. The other girls that were doing sew ins and blowouts do great from the looks of it though.

Well I got my hair done by a stylist named Kara. She’s a really sweet and pretty girl but she can not do sew-ins at all. She’s done my hair twice to me going back for my last and finally hair style from her. We talked on instagram and I asked her did she have any specials going on. I wanted a 360 frontal and hair with color that would be ombré. She told me it would be 425. We agreed to meet on Friday at 10 well she asked could I come at 10:30 that was fine I ended up being a minute late anyways. Well when I got there she wasn’t ready for me. So I didn’t get into her chair until pushing 11:30 then she had another girl braid my hair down. Long story short she put USED hair in my head and didn’t have my hair colored the way I wanted it to, she acted like she was in a rush ( I have proof that it’s used). Also my 360 frontal in the back you can see a whole braid and in front of my head the frontal doesn’t lay down. She told me the frontal would stay on for about 3 weeks that was a lie it came off that night. I wasted $360 and 2 hours I wasn’t able to get a refund nor anymore hair. She offered to fix it but I DO NOT WANT HER TOUCHING MY HAIR EVER AGAIN! Whatever you do, do not go to Kara. It is truly a lesson learned.

On 06/16, I made an appointment with their hair stylist Kara for a crotchet with an invisible part. 48 HOURS LATER, the hair was loose and coming out in large sections. There was also a product that she used to match my scalp with the color of the hair. The product matted the hair so bad, I couldn’t part or restlye the hair without it becoming tangled and frizzy. I later looked up reviews for this product and found it’s not even recommended on natural hair because it dries it up and causes your hair to get very frizzy. So if it’s not recommended on natural hair, why in the world would she think it best to put it on synthetic, curly hair?

Haven’t been to a salon in years and i finally went! The stylist did a blowout and i can say this is the first time i never got burnt during the process and i got what i exactly wanted! Didn’t put too much heat on my hair. Im really satisfied. Most definitely WILL return !

I wish I had read these reviews first. My daughter’s sewin was done by Mattie Mitchell. My daughter’s hair wasn’t blended at all and within 1 day looked awful. I called Mattie and lefted a message but she never returned my call. I went to kishabeefancy at Posh Salon Spa and had my daughter’s hair fixed. Kisha was honest and wonderful. My daughter’s hair looks great now. Ladies save your money and look for a salon that is consistent.

I gave this a one star because my mother got a sewin and she wasn’t satisfied at all and the girl she just said to play with her hair even though it was freakin jacked up and she cut iiiiiiiitttttttt wrong and left a big gap. The gap was about the size of my gap that’s in my mouth in between my teeth.
