My first time at this salon – 6pm was my appointment time. I got in there exactly on time and they told me they were running 15 minutes behind. That was fine, I needed them done and they closed at 7. I ended up waiting a half hour to be seated to get started (6:30). I was planning to pay $38 for my gel mani. Didn’t want to spend extra, not even on a tip for my really short nail. I asked for oval shape for my nails and my tech said are you sure you don’t want almond? I said sure okay. A few seconds later I said no, I’ll take oval, almond is a bit pointy for me. She filed my nails oval. At checkout (7:15) my bill was $43 and didn’t know why my total was higher than what I scheduled but I just paid, I assumed some addition I didn’t factor in. Turns out I was charged for a “special shape”, after I confirmed with my tech i wanted a simple oval shape. With waiting a half hour for my appointment I made, and the overcharge of something I never asked for – I felt taken advantage of, being a first time customer. Please disclose when you ask which nail shape a person wants that it is $5 extra. The girls in there are sweet and I wanted to love this place but unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Whoever answered my phone call to move my appointment to Monday was so patient with me and talked me through all their available services to make sure I was getting what I was looking for. I came home from Boston on Sunday and went to my appointment here the next day and I cannot say enough about here!! I absolutely love love love my nails!! They are so clean, friendly and patient. I cannot express how much I love onyx and all the amazing people that work there. I am literally so impressed by the quality every single time I get my nails done. Everyone that works there is not only incredibly talented but super nice to talk to! And I’ve truly never been to a salon that I’ve felt so relaxed in. They are seriously my favorite acrylic set I have ever had. The nail technician, Tiffany that I always scheduled with has left, and she was excellent! My last experience wasn’t good because my dip manicure is already chipping on the sides. Extremely racist establishment. I called to see if they had availability for a manicure sometime today . Instead of saying they are booked she asked me for a bunch of Information than proceeded to tell me they they don’t have time for it. Alexa refused to scheduled once I said ok can I schedule for the next available day . She said they are booked out for two plus weeks. I asked them if they knew that they were booked out so far why didn’t they say that instead of seeing if they had time today or in two weeks but took all of my information over the phone . Alexa refused to answer that question. I said well I can’t believe u don’t have an available 40-60 mins to do a manicure in the next coming weeks . I asked her to schedule me for a manicure for the next available apt and Alexa refused , she said she can put me on the wait list and thn out me on hold for over ten mins waiting for me to hang up I’m sure … I had a similar experience here over a year ago . A young man answered the phone asked me my name and what area I was coming from before refusing to schedule an appointment for me. Linda is the manager and refused to address the matter both times . Do not support this establishment! These are the exact types of businesses that are a problem in this world . Do not spend your money here ! Alexa and Linda are extremely unprofessional and racism and prejudices are never good for business!

It was easy to locate the business and I was serviced right after my temperature was checked. The business is very clean and I love the decor.
