I went on a Saturday afternoon, which I thought would be extremely packed. But luckily, there weren’t that many people in the barber shop. I appreciate that the barber shop was on time with my reservation, I reserved a haircut for 12:50, and the person before me finished his haircut around 12:45.

Manny was my barber for a year in Evanston and I couldn’t have been happier with all of my cuts. The prices are very reasonable and the experience of being there is like going back in time (in the best sort of way). Be sure to book ahead, since they get busy. Also, bring cash or a checkbook since they don’t take credit cards (which just adds to the charm).

I had a great experience here. Getting an appointment was no hassle at all. My barber (I think her name was Tracy) was extremely courteous and listened to what i wanted done to my hair and let me show her a picture. She took great care to explain things to me and give me options throughout the haircut. And she and I had a really nice conversation during the haircut.

My 93 year old father and I were having coffee at Coffee Lab (fantastic coffee!) a couple of doors down and walked by, looked at each other and said, let’s get our hair cut! We made appt’s. and came back a bit later and got great cuts from Helena. Great price, environment, staff and a beautiful old time barber shop. We look forward to a return visit next time we are in the Chicago area.

Great classic barber shop experience. They play music from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s adding to the experience. They have been serving the community for more than 60 years. Great cuts and great environment. Great for classic professional looking cuts. I’m sure they’re great for others, that’s just my personal preference. Highly recommend.

It’s a wonderful place! The staff is nice and friendly, I got a great haircut (exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it), everything was professional and very high quality and the price was really really competitive. I’m very happy, it’s the only place where I get decent haircut since I arrived to the U.S.!, and walking distance from Northwestern. I definitly recommend it!
