A very welcoming place to get a haircut, style and color. Staff is always friendly and professional. Staffers do specialize in specific areas. I can get a cut and color and waxing done by Jennifer. My son has different hair he gets a cut and braids from Destiny. And my Granddaughter goes to Tierra and gets braids with designs….like she has had a heart shaped braid and a butterfly! I’ve never been able to have my family go to one one shop for hair care! I’ve always had to run all over town and try to find a stylist who could actually do ethnic hair. Ethnic hair or curly hair is cut differently and you have to know what you’re doing! This salon/ Barber shop knows what they’re doing and specializes in ethnic hairstyles! Something this town has been lacking for years! So glad to know that Mankato now has a place. And it’s relaxing, friendly, and professional! They do what you want and are very good at it! Love this shop!

Every time I go Jen does such a beautiful job on my hair. I’ve been going to her for a few years now and today was just as impressive as the rest. She even salvaged my really long botched bleach job which left me with fallout and breakage and severe dryness when I had it done in another state. She also did my daughter’s hair today as well and booked us for the day since we wanted more involved procedures. I highly recommend her and the other amazing stylists at Northside.

Took my daughter her for the first time, and I will definitely be going back. Destani was so kind to my daughter, and explained everything to me what needed to be done. She knew just what to do for my daughters hair. This was the first time I have takin her for a cut and it was spot on. Going to book an appt for my other daughter in a month. I had tried dreadlocks earlier and I didn’t like the experience so I wanted to go from 2 strand twists, but Tierra( who did my hair) and Jennifer were upfront with their suggestions and that gave me the tools I needed to make a decision. Tierra listened to my concerns, understood them and asked me to trust her and boy am I glad I did! She was quick, gentle and was always checking in to make sure I was satisfied. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat.
