My experience with Dr. Carson and the group at Northeast Dermatology has been great from making an appointment, timely friendly reception at the office, and most important superb care by all the staff. What else could you ask for or expect! My first visit was for a routine look at a small benign growth on the inside of my wrist which she removed, but noticed an area of concern so she removed to find out in was carcinoma. So glad I made the appointment. If you want compassion expert care, this is the place for you. PS. Dr. Lee Carson is not only a great doctor but a really awesome person.

I have been going to NE dermatology for a little over 8 years for acne and minor skin concerns. The office is clean and organized, the admin is always friendly, all clinical staff are super knowledgeable , and my skin drastically improved within my first year attending. They have offered me free samples of creams to ensure I have what I need until my prescriptions are filled. They additionally have gone out of their way to ensure my costs are manageable and check insurance coverage. Highly recommend!

Every time which has only been a few times Ive gone they have been excellent. They even went out their way to find a prescription that my insurance would cover even when my insurance didn’t cover any they gave me samples, coupons and let me know of pharmacies I could order online that are out of state where out of pocket wouldn’t cost me a arm and a leg. They stayed on it. The only thing is I would ask that the ladies that run your insurance and who you pay your copay to be careful of their comments. Because my copay is like $3-$5 and the lady ask me do I even work. I was so shocked that she would make a comment like that to me but I responded yes. Please train your staff about good customer service. Common sense is not so common to all. I don’t know if that lady still works there because I haven’t needed to go to them in over 4 years or so.

I’m disappointed with Northeast Dermatology. They discriminate towards individuals who have Medicaid insurance. They have a different set of rules for Medicaid clients compared to those with employer-sponsored insurances. When asked why was I being singled out, I was informed that it was because I have Medicaid as my secondary insurance. But, I haven’t had Medicaid for years. So, now their excuse is because of past payment issues. So then I ask, when have I ever not paid. Would you believe it…I’m still waiting on a response. I can not recommend this office to anyone who is looking for a practice that offers fair and non-discriminatory services. Be a blessing always!

I assisted my mother when she went to Northeast Dermatology for her appointment and was very impressed with everyone in the office. Ashley greeted us at check in with a smile, was very polite, and helpful with any of our questions. My mother had misplaced her Medicare card and didn’t have her policy number but Marie in the insurance department offered to search the database and quickly found her policy. She is good at what she does and has a no nonsense approach which I absolutely love. The nurse took us back and she too was kind and understanding of my elderly mother’s condition. Our doctor was Devon Driver, NP. These days Its rare to find a doctor who slows down long enough to actually listen, show compassion, and empathy but to my surprise Devon was AMAZING! Extremely knowledgeable and so nice!! She did it all with a smile and my impression was that she genuinely cared which also is rare. And last but not least, Marie at checkout worked around my mothers schedule to find a follow up appointment that worked for her. I would highly recommend Northeast Dermatology to all of my family and friends. Phenomenal staff!

My overall experience with this facility was a poor. My concerns were dismissed by the dermatologist during my visit. I had to request an actual exam, not just a fly by glance at my skin. I had to request the skin tags be removed one of my primary reasons for going. The assistant was more compassionate during the visit. I had to point out my concerns multiple times. I was treated as if I was a number and not a person.

Very disappointing experience. I lost a lot of weight last year (85 lbs)and didn’t need to see a dermatologist this last year. I had a situation come up with my HS in a sensitive area and is very painful. I called for an appointment and understood that they are understaffed and couldn’t see me right away. I asked to be put on the wait list since this cyst is in a very unusual and highly sensitive area. The receptionist gave me attitude for not coming in the last year. Again, I didn’t need to see anyone because my skin was under control! I’ve been dealing with HS for over 20 years and I started seeing Dr. Carson over 10 years ago. I really thought I could at least be put on the waitlist due to my condition and the sensitivity of the area but apparently not.The conversation was humiliating and I felt talked down to. Of course I would go to my regular doctor if he would treat HS but he like all of my other doctors had never heard about it until treating me. So that’s not an option. Try less attitude, more empathy. It would go a long way in keeping a patient. I decided that August was just too long of a wait for this horrible painful cyst. I called Columbia Skin Clinic and booked an appointment for 2 weeks as a new patient. I would suggest looking for a different dermatologist if you are on the fence about this one.

So 3 days before my scheduled appointment I get a call from the billing receptionist saying that because I’ve been placed in their internal collections in the past (twice) that they will require me pay $93 up front before I’m even seen and then if I need to have any other services done then I would need to come out and pay again before those services would be done. They were giving me a courtesy call because they didnt want to single me out. I have never left their building without paying my balance right then and there. Also why would they have let me be seen supposedly a second time if there was still a balance???? When I questioned the balance and that I was never aware there was a balance (NEVER got one follow up bill) she stated there isn’t anymore. She was rude and although she had the nerve to call and question my credibility but would not or could not provide details of the balanced owed. This is horrible service and needless to say I canceled my appointment with this horrible business. Didn’t want to make me feel singled out…yeah right. I hope they lose a ton of business and people find better places for care…. Based on the other reviews ive seen about this place, I’m not alone and this many people saying the same thing, can’t be wrong!

This dermatology office needs new front desk management or training or something. Don’t get me wrong, beautiful office, LOVE Dr. Carter and NP Devin, both very knowledgeable and empathetic. But here’s the thing, like 85% of your visit is dealing with front office staff. Check in, insurance, payment, appointments, etc. I have no problem paying for the services I need and request; but telling me my insurance deductible hasn’t been met and then offering zero insight as to the probable cost of my visit is not a good way to handle a patient. Mind you this was before I went back to an exam room, so I opted to just leave. Their staff acts like they work in a spa where there’s no prices on the menu, you’ll just get the surprise bill at the end and you’re expected to pay in full, today. I offered to pay my $50 office visit fee but make arrangements for whatever costs would occur during my visit. She just looked blankly at me and said no you’d have to pay it all in full today. ♀️ Oh well, back to the drawing board for a good dermatologist office! Maybe after a couple years their office staff will turnover and it’ll get better. Farewell for now, Northeast Dermatology. Hopefully I find wonderful doctors like theirs in a better office environment!

I have been going to Northeast Dermatology for 10 years and have always had an excellent experience. Everyone on the staff is friendly and welcoming. Whether I go for a specific issue I would like to have looked at, or, for a regular “head to toe” check up (I lived on a sailboat for years so those check up are valuable to me), I have been treated with respect and any concerns or questions I have had have been discussed thoroughly. I highly recommend Northeast Dermatology.
