Unfortunately I can’t attest to the quality of their services as I had a scheduled appointment that my stylist Brittney didn’t show bother to show up for. I rearranged my work schedule and booked my appt a week in advance only to show up & sit in the salon for nearly 30 minutes to then be told that she lost her car keys and wouldn’t be coming to work that day so she made herself a doctors appt instead. The stylist who was at his job, Dave, was very sweet, personable and apologetic on her behalf despite being left to work alone all day at the last minute. My experience was rather unprofessional and disappointing. I won’t be returning due to the lack of regard for their clients and their time.

Brittany colored and styled my hair today. When I made my appointment on line, I intended to schedule with a stylist that previously colored my hair. However she has left the salon so I scheduled with Brittany. She did a wonderful job, she was very friendly, and I love my hair. I’ll continue to book my appointments with her!

I have been going to North River over 2 years now. I tried other salons when I moved here 3 years ago but their price and service were not something I was satisfied with. I don’t mind paying for a service that is worthy. I have Stacey as my stylist. She is pleasant, personal and professional. She stands behind all her work if you are not satisfied she does all that is humanly possible to make it right. I myself have always been happy with the results. I love Stacey and the rest of the staff us always welcoming and friendly too.

When I started coming to FL for the winter, had to find somewhere to get my hair cut. Only one person at home in PA has cut my hair since i was 20 yrs. old. Someone in my park recommended North River so i made an app. I was scheduled with Stacey and she is a sweetheart. Cares about your conversation and does an excellent job cutting my hair. The shop is clean and priced reasonably. Don’t have to look anymore. Love you. NR Hair Salon.

Love this salon! I’ve been a client of Ali’s for 4 years she is the best! The staff are all pleasant and cheerful which gives the salon an upbeat experience. I have difficult hair and Ali has always been excellent at understanding my request and my hair. I’ve walked out very happy from every visit. My salon for life!

I have been a client of North River Hair and Nails for ten years. My hair is difficult to cut and they do an excellent job with it. The stylists are friendly and professional. They are up to date on the latest trends and techniques. My kids have gone here since their first haircuts and love it. No tears have ever been shed because our stylist, Ali, is sweet, funny and upbeat. She is a doll!

If I could give a zero I would! I brought in pictures of how I wear my hair, short with little wispy curls on the ends. I left with my hair cut no where near what the pictures looked like. I wear my hair combed back, she had all my hair combed forward, absolutely straight, not one wispy curl. I came home colored my hair “tried” to style it. I can’t do anything with it. One side is to long and to full. The other side, I DON’T KNOW, it’s just sticking straight out! Won’t lay down, won’t style, NO CLUE! I paid $35 plus $5 tip for this horrible haircut and style. If I was you don’t come here. Nita was the stylist.

I went to several other place to get a perm..I have really thick hair and I color it others turned me down said my hair would fall out. I walked into North River let them look at my hair and they said they would do it. Stacey is who did my hair 2 years ago when I first moved to Ellenton, she wasn’t scared of my hair falling out at all. I KNOW my hair and I know it wouldn’t fall out so she permed it. Best perm I have ever had in Florida and I have had a few. She has now given me 3 perms total not one strand of my hair fell out and I will color my hair. Stacey is the greatest..she is so professional and sweet, She gave me my last perm yesterday because I am moving back to Indiana, but when I come visit I might just wait and come back to her to perm me again….I LOVE STACEY….

Well, to Victoria, who said the people were rude at North River Hair and Nails…all I can say is, “Are you sure you were in the right place??” EVERYONE there is friendly, sweet, funny, and genuinely interested in making you look your absolute best. I LOVE going there! They are professional and very talented. I have had Whitney (the fabulous owner), Tamra (miss her so much), Alli (sweet, adorable and naughty:) Marion (beautiful and down to business), and just recently, Tyler (yum and young) all do my hair and every single time, it has turned out better than I could hope for. You absolutely got the wrong place!! I have been to many, many hair salons in Manatee, Pinellas, and Sarasota county through the years and I know professionalism and talent . This place is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. What more could you ask for?

Another fabulous haircut from Ali @ North River Hair and Nails. Coming from Long Island a few years ago, it was difficult to find a salon that was up to my N.Y. standards. Not only can Ali give a great cut, but she does incredible color as well. She is an absolute pleasure and the shop is always a fun place to spend your time. They have recently moved to a newer, bigger location and I wish them many happy and successful years ahead!
