I specialize in the moving target! Family style hair salon where you get a personalized experience every time because it is always one on one for each service. Taking a child for a hair cut can be intimidating for an adult and child alike, please rest assured I am here to easy all of those tensions. Always feel free to call with any questions or concerns. While appointments are preferred since we are one on one, walkins can be scheduled. While many of my clients are kids I am a full service salon for adults as well. As the owner and operator of the business located in the historic district of Miller Place for the past 15 years I welcome you to come be part of our family here at North Country Kids Family Hair Salon.

I made an appointment for my daughters first haircut at 10am. Showed up on time for the appointment at the exact same time as a walk-in customer. The owner did not even acknowledge us and had the walk-in take a seat. Clearly it was going to take longer for her to cut this girls thick hair than my 10 month olds! Between that and the owner not wearing a mask, we decided to leave. If you’re a new customer looking for a local salon for your kids. I would keep looking 🙂

I’ve gone to this place 3 times because the reviews are so good and I kept thinking that maybe I caught the owner on a bad day. Well, on 3 bad days. But after 3 separate haircuts for my daughter, and 3 separate moody encounters from the owner, I decided to stop going to this place. Why do I keep referring to the owner as the owner? Well, she never introduced herself despite us doing so to her. Her demeanor was the same all 3 times. She acted as if we were putting her out by just being there. She rushes, she doesn’t talk to the kids, she’s curt, she doesn’t smile. I don’t understand all the positive reviews. For the first cut, she sprayed my daughter’s head with water, quickly brushed through her hair, cut cut snip snip, then sent my daughter on her way. Wet hair and all. I asked her what about a blow dry and she told me she was too booked and I hadn’t asked for that when making the appointment. Ok, lesson learned. Then next two times, I scheduled blow dries but my daughter came out with dry hair on top and damp hair underneath. Three strikes, Country Kids is out!

Negative stars would be a more honest assessment.We called at 1130 to make an appointment. 4:45 was confirmed. Called at 4:20 to reconfirm. Show up at 4:45 and NO ONE is there. No one answers the phone.
