I went to Next Level for the first time this evening. I met Smooth out front and he got me signed in. When I walked in, my beard looked like I’d been living in a cave for the past few months. Smooth took his time once I was in the chair. The service I received lived up to the Next Level name of the shop. He provided the full barber shop treatment, old school style. Shaved my dome with straight razor. Warm towel and head message, the whole deal.

I usually go here because it’s 5 minutes from my house and the barbers there are pretty cool but today took the case… the barber Maurice I’m assuming is new charge me $40 for an undercut which I think is high the most I’ve paid in that barber shop is $30. I know inflation is real but to charge $40 for an undercut is ridiculous.. charging like this will not have clients coming back and to top it off the little boy which was 12 he tried to charge him $30 but the dad wasn’t having it so he knocked it down to $25. I like the other barbers so I will continue to go but I’m sure Maurice won’t be there long.

The customer service was disappointing due to me having an appointment with RICK WHOM WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. A guy came to my car and stated he could do it whom happened to be zay. MY OLDEST CAME OUTSIDE and I was upset because I didn’t see nothing done to his head so me and the barber goes back and forward tryna make him understand I need the hair cut lower and I’m not familiar with barber terms so I SHOWED Zay a picture and then a lady whom works there came over and stated that my oldest hair just in the front was enough to be considered a haircut which that wasn’t even what we was talking about at the time. UPON FINISHING, The man told me my total was $55 for two child haircuts I was in disbelief but at this point I was ready to go after waiting two hours. I GAVE HIM $60 he didn’t even attempt to give me my change. In exchanged he gave me a hug and apologized for his confrontational demeanor at the beginning of my appt! MY KIDS GET IN THE CAR AND LONG STORY SHORT WHEN I GOT HOME I HAD TO PULL OUT MY CLIPPERS!! NEVER AGAIN!! FYI THIS IS NOT MY BARBER, my barber, was on vacation and I needed my kids hair cut for their vacation was recommended by my roommate and I’m very disappointed in the service that my kids received today!

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueNexLevel is awesome. I’ve been there three times and had three different professionals each time and all three are top notch whether it’s a haircut or a beard trim/line-up. Doesn’t matter who you are they treat you well. The atmosphere is fantastic and they’re super clean and everyone I’ve interacted with has a great attitude. NexLevel is awesome. I’ve been there three times and had three different professionals each time and all three are top notch whether it’s a haircut or a beard trim/line-up. Doesn’t matter who you are they treat you well. The atmosphere is fantastic and they’re super clean and everyone I’ve interacted with has a great attitude. Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityNever again. I’ve been bringing my son here religiously for over a year. Each time, the wait gets longer and the customer service gets worse. Today was the final straw. We waited for an hour and 20 minutes until the shop was also clear and the barber we were waiting on proceeded to get ready to cut a guys hair who had just walked in instead of my sons. When I stood up and asked if my son was next, he said the guy was next and then my son. I expressed how long we had waited and he responded with “I’m just telling you the order.” I was furious and we left without being serviced. You don’t treat customers, especially returning customers, that way. I’m an advocate for supporting those who provide a quality service, which is why I hadn’t allowed anyone else to touch my son’s head in over a year but him. So, to be treated with no regard in this instance was hurtful and was honestly the last straw. We can surely take our business elsewhere. It’s not even the wait that bothered me most, it’s the lack of concern or care that we had sat there and were being skipped over because he appeared to know they guy that just walked in. Never again. I’ve been bringing my son here religiously for over a year. Each time, the wait gets longer and the customer service gets worse. Today was the final straw. One barber finished and went to the back and never came back out and the other barber was doing more talking than cutting. I sat in there for over 30 minutes and noone said anything to me.
