New York Barber shop is located in Lake Hiawatha a small town in Morris. This Barber shop is located on the busy street of North Beverwyck Rd and next to Gene’s Deli. Owner is really friendly and attentive in the work. He understands customer need by asking the style or preferences for hair cut and if new customer, he shows style from available brochures and pictures. Even in COVID, he make sure to follow social distance guidelines and make sure that his customers also wear face masks . I personally had good experience as he did value added services for me without adding cost on haircuts(eyebrows). Thank you Mr. Barber , you are the best…

I was actually supposed to go to the hair salon right opposite to this one (Sal’s hair salon) but since this was on the same side as direction I was driving in and it had a parking spot right in front, I decided to go here. Plus, it was $1 less. Big mistake! He was with a young kid (possible daughter) and his entire mission seemed to be to punish me for daring to come in between father daughter time (it was afternoon around 2 pm). He went at my hair with a vengeance, constantly hurting with me his razor and even comb. After repeatedly getting hurt, I asked him to be gentle to which he replies that he is doing it fast and I can go to pricier ones opposite (again, just a $1 more) if I want a slow and gentle haircut! On top of that the electric razor was hot, not unbearably so, but distinctly uncomfortable. And then the worst part- he did not even blow my hair, to remove all the loose hair. My T-shirt was full of hair and my bathroom (and possibly my car) resembled a mini hair salon. Of course, I don’t think I need to mention that there wasn’t any after shave kind of stuff around the neck and the ears for soothing (where he used the razor). And he had the temerity to expect a tip by returning me all singles. Sal’s hair salon right opposite has stellar reviews-I am new to the place and haven’t been there-but I am pretty sure it will the best $1 every spent. This is my first ever review on anything (in my entire life), so you can imagine how what kind of experience I must have had to be compelled into writing a review. Avoid at all costs.
