Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueCame from out of state and was very nervous about finding a new hair stylist. I had had the same person doing my hair for 18 years, so finding the right person was definitely scary at first. I asked one of my friends who got their hair done frequently and she directed me to Sophie! I came in with a picture and was open to suggestions and anything that she thought would look better. I have gone to her every time now and have had different things done to my hair each time. She got to exactly what I was wanting and I would recommend anyone looking for someone that is understanding and easy to work with to go to Sophie! The pictures down below are what she was able to accomplish with going from a blonde balayage back to my natural hair with some caramel highlights for Demi soon ! Came from out of state and was very nervous about finding a new hair stylist. I had had the same person doing my hair for 18 years, so finding the right person was definitely scary at first. I asked one of my friends who got their hair done frequently and she directed me to Sophie! I came in with a picture and was open to suggestions and anything that she thought would look better. I have gone to her every time now and have had different things done to my hair each time. That made me feel really confident in choosing her for my hair.She really was able to communicate with me well about what would look best with my face shape and skin tone. She’s the only stylist I’ve been to that was able to give me balayage in the tone I wanted with touches of low lights. Critical: ProfessionalismI previously went here for a haircut and absolutely loved my stylist! However, a couple months ago I messaged them asking if they had any availability for hair color. They read all three of my messages and ignored them. I even politely asked if they just didn’t have any room for appointments. Not a way to treat customers.

I even flew from Colorado to New York for a hair transformation that I didn’t trust anyone else to do. I have referred all of my friends to her and will continue to do so. She is not only an amazing stylist, but the sweetest person! She nails it every time, and never misses. Even taking my super dark hair to ashy blonde and back, she keeps the integrity of my hair and is honest with me about what is achievable. New Roots is so lucky to have her! Sophie is the most amazing stylist! I have been seeing Sophie for I think 5 years and have followed her to every salon. I even flew from Colorado to New York for a hair transformation that I didn’t trust anyone else to do. I have referred all of my friends to her and will continue to do so. She is not only an amazing stylist, but the sweetest person! She nails it every time, and never misses. Critical: ProfessionalismI went to Sophie to get copper toned highlights with a darker undertone, I left that salon with absolutely no copper and the exact same color as my new growth.. my hair honestly looked no different. I messaged Sophie letting her know I was not pleased with the color and she said I could come in to fix it, once again I come in and leave the salon with absolutely no copper in sight but my hair was darker and very uneven. I messaged Sophie to let her know I was not pleased with the color once again and she dismissed everything I had to say by telling me she does believe we achieved a copper and the photos I sent her of my uneven hair were taken in “florescent” lighting and weren’t a actual representation… so I sent her a video of myself outside! I REFUSED to let her touch my hair again and continue to apply more and more color till she got it right which I doubt she would. My hair almost a week later is VERY dry and my natural curls have be hard to keep from frizzing due to her processing my hair for way to long. I stayed very professional with her throughout this process but I do not feel that she placed the client first and her response to all of it was blocking me after I spent a great amount of money with her and was unsatisfied. I do not recommend going to this stylist. I went to Sophie to get copper toned highlights with a darker undertone, I left that salon with absolutely no copper and the exact same color as my new growth.. my hair honestly looked no different. I messaged Sophie letting her know I was not pleased with the color and she said I could come in to fix it, once again I come in and leave the salon with absolutely no copper in sight but my hair was darker and very uneven.
