My bestie and I booked a last minute back massage. Overall good experience. Loved loved loved the 1 minute scalp massage, wish it were longer. But the back massage was on the aggressive side. I asked the masseuse to be softer, she probably felt the tense back and decided to go in for the realignment.

I am a regular here who generally tips well and is respectful, the front desk person clearly doesn’t know this or doesn’t care. This Sunday evening 10/23/22 I came in and found the front desk woman was impolite, I thought at first it was because I was a walk-in until she was rude to the next person that came in as well, who had an appointment. I find her attitude off putting and today I had a poor masseuse. The man was too rough, even after I interrupted the massage to tell him to be gentler, he continued to painfully dig his fingers into my flesh and pressure points, while ignoring pretty obvious knots and tight muscle groups. Upon leaving the front desk woman asked me how it went and I mentioned that it was too hard so she said facetiously “Ok bye bye” …as if I don’t understand what ‘shut up and leave’ sounds like, I just left after that because I was already in a bad mood after that massage. I still tipped the man but it would have been well within my rights to ask for my money back because I left more stressed than when I first walked in. Honestly the front desk is doing a huge disservice to the majority of hard working and talented masseuses in the back. Its not the first time the front desk person has been rude or copped an attitude for no reason. It is also not the first time a male masseuse has been too rough to the point where the massage was unenjoyable. Its sad because the ladies always do a nice job despite the front desk being a hassle. It would be beneficial if they told us the name of the masseuse or introduced them in the beginning, that way you can ask for them or report an issue. As it is the front desk and unprofessional male masseuses are dragging everyone else down in an otherwise quality establishment.

I have been coming to new garden spa for some time now but today it was horrible. Multiple times I have seen them be aggressive and pushy with wanting a tip it is so pathetic and unprofessional. Today I had received the worst massage after the same lady had chased a guy outside for a tip right before me. Her massage was so horrible. She was stuck on one same spot forever and instead of spending time equally on everything , she did the massages that were most convenient to her which was digging her elbow in your back even after you tell it hurts. Never will come back now. And had the audacity to ask for more tip and I told them I did not like the massage so therefore I will not tip the way I usually do. I honestly wanted to walk out mid massage. Keep it up guys , keep losing your customers to chase tip. We all come for a massage to relax from our hardworking jobs as well.

I’ve never walked out of a massage mid-massage before until today. I’ve been coming to New Garden Spa for a number of years and have really enjoyed deep tissue massages for those knots you get from being hunched over a desk. Today I basically received a back rub and when asked for more pressure the masseuse dug into my shoulders with his elbow. Historically, other masseuses have been able to work out knots in my shoulders with their hands. The spa may have been overwhelmed due to the volume of the holiday weekend, but I’ve been there during Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas and have never had a massage like this. The woman at the front desk gave me half off but I came out from NYC for this massage so overall very disappointed after so many years.

The lady at front desk has terrible customer service. My wife and I have been long time customers since the previous owner, and many of our friends in the neighborhood. However, the lady at the front desk is rude. She acts like if she is doing customers a favor. Terrible attitude. We prefer to find another place. The customers vote in or out. Bad customer service is a recipe for failure sooner or later.

Critical: ProfessionalismI’ve been here a few times & after reading the previous reviews I agree – there are 2 receptionists , a YOUNGER one and an OLDER one, the older one is rude and just uncomforting as you’d expect in a massage place.
