This is the first time I have been to this salon and will 100% be going back. From the minute I walked in the door I was greeted by Steven and Sara with this amazing energy and warm welcoming. I have curly hair and have been researching salons to go to. I stumbled across New Creations they have good reviews so I’d figure I would give them a try. My stylist was Steven he listened to my concerns and answered any questions I had. He was very helpful and the education he provided on what products to use and how to use them was much appreciated! My hair feels and looks so soft I love it! I would definitely recommend coming here. The before picture is the gray shirt and the after is the blue shirt.

She was very anxious about getting it done but he made her very comfortable and he explained everything to both of us as he was doing it, because I know nothing about hair and it was both of our first time experiencing it. I was reluctant on making a review, because the stylist I had was AMAZING. They were so sweet and a gave great costumer service. However, I did my research for people with curly hair because of shrinkage and that I wanted to donate 10 inches, but wanted to keep as much as I could- that I even brought a ruler and a picture of the style I wanted briefing that it would be nice if it was a bit longer and if 8 inches needed to happen instead I could still donate it. It seemed fine when they started at the front (where I could visibly see with the ruler that they took 8inches off due to my hair already being shorter in the front) but when they got to the back it seemed a bit shorter than the front and I just thought I’m not used to having short hair and then I noticed that they needed to shorten the front to even it out. I wanted my hair to at least touch my shoulders and at most 10 inches and unfortunately I have the hair to measure it… 15 inches… which is a lot and a lot more than I asked for (5 inches to be exact and probably 6 if my hair were straight) I know hair grows back, so it’s not a big deal, but I am a bit upset due to having done my research and being very specific with what I wanted.

Steven has been my hair stylist for years and when he moved over to the shop I, of course, followed him! Spot on funky little place in westport. Steven is the best hairstylist and the service they give at this shop is fabulous! They are specialists in curly hair as well, and Steven does the best, best, best color ever! Do yourself a favor and look them up! Send your friends with curly hair too; the shop has been around for over 20 plus years and when Steven’s group took it over, the old owners taught them everything they know about curly hair so this is the go-to spot in KC for curly hair! Ask my niece.. I’ll add photos in a couple of weeks when I go get my hair done again

Steven is the best, adored him so much. I have been a couple of times now. Tried the Deva Cut the first time, the Wet Cut the 2nd, and both times my hair looked fantastic. So, not only is he a great hair stylist, but he is one of the nicest people too. Love his enthusiasm. He will lighten up your day for sure….and then you will walk out feeling and looking fabulous.
