New Appearances Salon

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueMy first experience with New Appearances was in Sumner and it was incredible so it’s disappointing I’m writing this. I do not recommend hairsylist Kathryne Ihlenfeldt at the Bonney lake location. I took my 11yr old to get a haircut and style for her grown out curly long hair. Immediately, she questioned the appointment and if I’ve cut my daughter’s before. She asked several times and eventually started appointment. I showed pictures of her results from the sumner location and other pic to show what we were looking for. She was so combative and i ended up asking whar are her suggestions or recommendations since she’s the professional here. She never could be speak friendly to me, just no people skills. This was very alarming because my daughter has special needs and very much picks up on energies. I tried to fix whatever miscommunication I may have expressed and still she was just rude. Her unprofessionalism eventually showed through her work. She combed my daughter’s head to hard over a mole and drew blood! Then pointed blaim that she came in the salon with a cut instead taking ownership and accountability. A sorry goes a long way especially when we didn’t start off on the right foot. During the haircut, she barely checked in with her client, my daughter ex. left hair in face several times, just being a little pushy in her turns. Kathryne had no consideration for client’s experience. Towards the end of the appointment, she asked me if i wanted to blow dry and curl it and i agreed then she proceeds to use her hands not brush or anything. Which I’m just going with it cause she’s the professional here. Then she’s done my daughter’s hair is in a HUGE FLUFFY HAIRBALL. She takes out curling iron so i asked her if she was going to straightening her straight first. I already shown several pictures of the results we were looking for. If she couldn’t do, why didn’t she wasnt suitable to perform to our requests. So as she’s blowing dry her next appointment arrives and she was rushing the process and I felt unwanted and unvalued. Through of the appointment she never tried to spark a conversation with my daughter. Just ridiculous. We left with my daughters hair in a BIG FRIZZY BALL because she wasn’t straightening from her roots all the way down cause people were waiting for her. I ended up telling her dont worry about curling after straightening it cause we were about 45 mins in the appointment. I will never do back to this Location or stylist. I always tip everywhere I go cause this pandemic has hurt so many businesses and they need help. This was the first I DID NOT tip a business because of the horrible service and customer service. She’s a wizard when it comes to making my hair dreams come true! She’s so easy to talk to and a complete sweetheart. I’ve been going to Reed since February 2020! I’ve had a hard time finding someone to do a balayage…. She’s a wizard when it comes to making my hair dreams come true! She’s so easy to talk to and a complete sweetheart. I felt comfortable having her work on my hair since she was previously a teacher (For years) at a beauty school. If you choose her, you won’t be sorry!

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueAfter just moving to the area, I was able to walk in, get a great cut and color, and had a great experience. Dani was my stylist and I highly recommend her. Also, the salon itself is super cute, so the feel is really nice.
