I was in here last summer to get a haircut and it has taken quite some time to develop the perfect review and I believe that perfect review has arrived. To begin, I called into the salon and requested to make an appointment. The staff not only scheduled me an appointment but sent out a friendly email reminder which was thoughtful and practical. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff of the Neon Salon. I was instantly treated to what I could only compare to a Vidal Sassoon experience. This visit was NOT like the usual agonizing trip to your local subpar Saturday’s where they smack their bubblegum like a bunch of cows and present you with an old poster of faded styles and get upset with you when you want to deviate from what they want as if it was communist North Korea and then butcher the final product in a way that makes it look like you got in a fight with a weed wacker… no… the Neon Salon exceeded all my expectations in this vast world of corporate salons or as I like to say “Big Hair.” I received a fade that blew me away. Not only was the finished product amazing but I was offered complementary beverages as if I was staying at a luxury hotel! When the dust settled and I thought this magical journey had come to an end I was offered a beard trim and shape. Now I have been to barber shops and salons far and wide but I had yet to go to one that took the time to notice my substantial shortcomings in the beard trimming and shaping department. Before I could say Paul Mitchell my beard was molded as if clay into a well styled beard as if sculpted by the famous Donatello himself. It also came to my attention that one more thing NEEDED to be tackled while I was here and that was my eyebrows. Now these eyebrows weren’t just a couple stray hairs but were actually more along the lines of Bert from Bert and Ernie. Untamed and wild… this issue was immediately disposed of thanks to the folks at Neon Salon. As a whole this friendly welcoming environment changes the mundane chore of getting a haircut into what I can only describe as a privilege. I walked in looking like a mangy bum and walked out transformed. Geared with my fresh new haircut, a trimmed and shaped beard that would make Tony Stark jealous, and presentable eyebrows I was ready to tackle the world. The biggest takeaway from this experience was confidence. A confidence that had been rekindled after years of poor self-esteem. So I thank you Neon Salon to your employees and your fantastic management. You folks are a beam of light in a very dark world!
