Just visited Nantucket, joining a full range of clients getting beautiful haircuts and styling in advance of the holidays! Paul and his team at Nantucket continue to VERY effectively balance their concern for client and staff safety with their commitment to high style and great value. Over the many years that I and my now-adult daughters have been clients, we have always found the Nantucket stylists to be creative, responsive and friendly– wouldn’t go anywhere else. I have had my hair cut at Nantucket for almost 30 years and, clearly, think that it is the best salon in Washington, DC. With respect to getting color and/or a cut in the age of Covid, Nantucket takes every precaution to make sure that clients and staff are protected and safe. During my visit in early June, masks were required, I had my temperature taken, and was given a plastic poncho to wear (versus a cloth robe). At the salon, there is extreme social distancing in place. This is achieved by spacing out appointments. The number of staff has been reduced as well. They have only two clients on each side of the salon at a time (photo attached), and the staff wear masks and either goggles or a face shield. Surfaces are sanitized regularly. With all of the safety measures in place, I did not feel scared or worried while I was in the salon. Having my hair colored and cut was fabulous. I take the virus seriously and have been diligent about staying at home, wearing a mask, and social distancing. I felt very comfortable going to Nantucket and would recommend the salon to others as a safe haven during this difficult time.

My sister, my daughter, and I all got our hair done here for my son’s wedding. A really nice French guy did all of our dos and they were spectacular. I’m sorry I cant remember his name. My daughter is in her early 30s and my sister and I in our early 70s and he did all three picture perfect. I had an updo and not only did I get rave reviews from everyone at the wedding, but the hairdo lasted Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. My sister got a hair cut and styling and my daughter has really long hair which was styled part up and part down. So I feel like we tested all the various hair dos. I wish I lived in DC so I could get my hair done here all the time! Thanks so much.

Everyone in the salon is very nice, friendly and professional. They are always ready for you at the time of your appointment, never waited in all these year. Temp checks, disposable gowns, masks at all times on everyone, limited capacity, distancing, sanitized stations. If you are looking for a great style and/or great color, Nantucket is the best salon for both. A great team – – the stylists, the assistants, the reception and scheduling manager – – a great experience consistently with all of them. They are genuine professionals who care about their clients and the quality of their work. Most impressive is the number of top-notch stylists who stay at Nantucket…not like other salons where there is constant staff churn…a testament to the owner, Paul, who is also a fabulous stylist and colorist.
