Horrible, will never get my hair done here again. So unprofessional, and they ran out of material to do my hair properly, there was yelling, and a woman doing my hair while eating and they’re pricey for the type of service you get. My hair didn’t last longer than a month (ridiculous) and I paid $180 to have it done. I decided to give them a second chance and that experience was worse than the first and so was my hair. Nanou Salon is CANCELLED for me.!

Im currently new to the city and looking for a hair braiding shop. I HAVE NOT been here so let me clear on that before I put their business on blast but what I will say is I believe that people’s reviews are a clear reflection on a business & based off these reviews I’m just going to kindly bypass this one. Sometimes you can’t believe all the reviews being posted but I read entirely too many negative reviews so based off that I’m just going to move along and ask that y’all do better. Customer isn’t always right but too many of the same reviews they ain’t always wrong either.

Not happy!! Before my appointment i sent pictures of the type of crochet braids that i wanted and after getting my hair braided to prepare for the crochet braids the stylist comes over and says that they dont have the type of equipment to do the crochets that i requested. As if they could not tell me before starting that braiding! Very bad customer service!

It’s always one nasty person to ruin your experience. I went there LESS THAN A WEEK AGO and the girls that did my hair was so kind. Yesterday I felt pain and come to find out my braid was coming out. Even though it’s one braid I didn’t know what to do so I called the next morning to see if I can get it fix in the middle of the week since I had an important engagement. Not only did the woman I spoke to didn’t want to help me she talk to me like trash. I spent good money so I expected help. It’s a shame because the girls that actually did my hair was so kind. It’s always one person who is IN CHARGE to ruin it for you. Never again.

I arrived for my appointment at 8am and the ladies started on my hair promptly and I must say I absolutely love my braids. In all the years of getting my hair braided this is fastest shop around. I definitely will be returning.

This was an interested experience. My appt. was at 7am. I get there at 6:45 and there is another client waiting to be seen as well. 7am comes and goes and no stylists show up. I text the number provided to let someone know I am here but no one responded. No one arrived until 7:45am, which at that point it was already 4 clients waiting. The person woman that arrived was taken care of first and then the rest of us had to wait another 15 minutes for two more stylists to show up. The stylists were dressed in sweatpants, flipflops and tennis shoes. There was no professionalism there what so ever. All of the stylists just talked amongst each other in french while doing the clients’ hair. They did not take the time to get to know their clients, they didn’t even know our names or cared to ask! Anybody that came in was greeted with a simple “what are you here for”? They ordered food for themselves and didn’t even care to offer us water or anything. Every client that came in had to wait at least 35 minutes to even get started. The icing on the cake was when a girl from the office came around with a clip board and tried to collect payment when the stylists’ weren’t even halfway done with our hair!! There were no apologies for being late, no discounts or incentives to come back. The only thing that keeps this from being a one star review was the fact that the style was nice looking, but it took 8.5 hours to finish a style, even with two people working at once, due to the excessive talking and playing around they were doing, I’m writing this review on behalf of all the clients that were there that day because we all felt the same way. Would definitely NOT be returning.

Went to this place for more than a year. The first time was great, there were 2-3 braiders and they worked straight through and finished in less than 4 hours. Then it started to take longer and longer. The would divide my hair into 4 quadrants and one person would braid a quad. Sometimes I would sit for over an hour waiting for the next person to braid. Asked why don’t you just finish, she said this is what the owner told her to do. The last time I went I was there 12 hours!

Got cornrows, paid $100 and after 2 days they were extremely loose. I called to explain the situation and was told I would receive a call back but never heard anything…been a week now and my braids look like I’ve had them for 3 months….so disappointed! Don’t waste your time or money!

My daughter got her hair done today @ Nanou African Hair Braiding & they did an AWFUL JOB!! The front of her hair is braided in SLOPPY medium box braids with HUGE knots & the back is in HUGE CROOKED box braids!! She brought her own hair & paid $160.00! DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE @ THIS SHOP because you WILL REGRET IT! PLEASE take your business somewhere else!
