They did take away the waiting room during COVID and haven’t replaced it yet. That would be nice so we don’t have to sit in our cars. My stylist, Kristian, was nice, listening and responding to my concerns about past hair loss and the fact that I’m growing my hair out. However, she apparently did not know how to handle naturally curly hair. I left with frizzy, moisture-deprived looking hair, whereas normally my hair dries in a combination of shiny waves at the top and ringlets at the bottom – even without putting anything in it and just using shampoo. Honestly, I couldn’t help feeling disappointed. I could recommend this place to people with straight hair, or maybe curly haired people who want their hair straightened, but in the future I’ll seek out a different salon and I suggest others with curly and coily textures who want to keep and improve their natural texture to also go elsewhere.

My daughter and her friend went to get their hair cut and styled. They were told they could be accepted as walk-ins, however, the stylist took 3 hours to do my daughter’s hair and never even got to her friend. He was walking all over, trying to do multiple clients’ hair, vaping, not paying attention to what he was doing. He never did trim my daughter’s hair. She asked for highlights and she walked out with orange, fried hair that desperately needs to be corrected. I am appalled at their treatment and the unprofessional nature of this “salon.”

Unfortunately, I had the worst experience here and would give them 0 stars if I could. This was a few years ago, but I recently spoke to several others who had similar experiences. I do not recommend going here to get your hair done for an event. I chose this place based on the wonderful online reviews. They knew I was there to have my hair done for an event and they paired me with a stylist who had arthritis and had never done hair for prom or bridal events. She clearly didn’t want to be doing my hair and acted as if it was my fault that I was paired with her. She kept saying she had somewhere to be and that I should have asked for the girls that do bridal hair. I wanted a few little braids tied into a curly bun. When I showed several photos to the stylist she told me she could not do it but instead of having someone else do my hair, she told me she would do something similar and then she turned me around so I couldn’t see what was being done. It was an absolute mess. She used about 20 bobby bins and enough hair spray to last a lifetime and burned the side of my cheek with a curler. I even heard another stylist whisper “that poor girl.” By the time she was done, my hair was a rat’s nest and there were bobby pins sticking out everywhere. When my mom came to pick me up she was astounded and tried to talk to the lady at the front desk about it but she kept insisting that my hair was already done so there was nothing they could do. When I got home, my mom had to help me untangle my hair and cover up the burn on my cheek. It was a disaster and I wish I would have spoken up sooner. I hope that this stylist no longer works there and that their customer service is much better. If not, I would highly suggest going elsewhere to have your hair done for any kind of event.

I have been going to Tori Hintz Myers for several years now, as have about 15-20 people in my circle of friends, and she’s been dubbed “the hair whisperer” for numerous reasons. I drive over an hour each way just to have her work her magic on my hair. Not only does she go out of her way to make sure that your hair looks exactly the way you want it, she can mix color like no other stylist I’ve met —including expensive “master stylists.” Don’t know what you want? Don’t be afraid to give her the reigns. Her styles are cutting edge and hip, plus she is well-versed and confident styling ethnic hair with a long list of clients who would give her a 5-star review in a heartbeat. Did I mention she is an artist with a makeup brush and you can book her for your wedding, too? In one word: Genius.
