Nail techs are pretty nice and polite. As an experienced nail tech the sanitation is poor. I’m pretty OCD about polish on my skin. Shaping and cutting needs more practice and attention to detailed. Reusing nail files, I don’t mind. Atleast , clean the basket after each use and sanitizing is a must. The dust from filing people nails and not cleaning gross me out . Otherwise, this place is where if you’re in a rush and need a quick polish only I guess. Price are reasonable. Could use some new polish.

I drive 25 minutes from somerville to go to Nails Star even though there are plenty of nail salons closer to me. The staff is so nice and they do such a great job. I usually get dip on my nails and it lasts forever and doesn’t crack like other places. I got a pedicure for the first time today and it was amazing. They really take the time to pamper. Highly recommend.

Positive: Cleanliness, QualityI’ve being coming here for a few months now and always liked how Nina does her job, but today I left the salon disappointed the lady that did my mani/pedi left chunks of gel polish on my nails and didn’t clean the edges so when I put my hands inside the LED light I felt my fingers burning and the pedi she left one toe nail half painted. I can’t say enough positive things about this place. Ask for the spa pedicure or spa manicure specifically. It’s well worth the few extra bucks. Tina is my favorite! She’s thorough and massages for a long time and generally does an excellent job as a nail technician.

Would never go back. They made me wait an hour for a sub-standard pedicure. Although I didn’t mind waiting, I felt cheated when they charged me for their advanced spa pedicure (more expensive than the express pedicure) when what I received was faster than an express pedicure. The water they let me soak my feet in was cold and nobody bothered to even ask if the temperature was okay! The person who worked on my feet didn’t bother to shape my nails, in fact my nails appear uneven now. The nail polish was old and she didn’t apply it well either. I could see this person trying to hurry because she already had her next customer before she could start my pedicure. I wish they valued all their customers equally. Why would you make your customer wait an hour, give a <10 min shabby pedicure and charge extra? I have never been more dissatisfied with a service.
