I’m from New Canaan and was a long-standing customer of Nails Hollywood, but I hadn’t been back in about a year because I moved away. I had a very bad experience upon my return. The male manicurist was very pushy and rude and wouldn’t clip or shape my nails the way I wanted. (He gave me a major attitude and pushback when I requested he change it). He rushed through the gel manicure and didn’t leave my nails under the light long enough. One nail peeled off on the 5th day when gel is supposed to last for 2 weeks. They used to give an amazing gel manicure. Quality has gone way downhill. I’m very disappointed because it’s expensive and I rarely get my nails done these days. My sister recommended the new spot that opened up on Main Street- I’ll try that next time.

The owner is rude and rushed through the service, filed into nail bed causing pain and redness in several spots. Every nail has a different shape! I told her to trim all nails to match and was told that short nails aren’t pretty! Just absolutely awful place at least as having nails done by the owner goes (was also rude to the some of the other workers)!

The people who work there are very nice and sweet but the manicures not so much, they chipped very easily and it was very pricey!! I showed them a simple design (a bolt) on 2 nails and it did not look like the picture and it was like 13 extra dollars for it Manicure

I went in for an acrylic manicure, the first thing I encountered was the owner telling me I should go elsewhere, that I couldn’t afford them (I am from Puerto Rico). I showed them my credit card and said, “Yes, I can afford them, I’m 18 and I work!” I got the manicure and was charged $153.00! In Waterbury the cost is $35.00. Needless to say I did not leave a tip, and the owner said “You’re not leaving a tip?” For the way I was treated, I refused to leave a tip and of course I’ll never go back. Thinking of calling the Better Business Bureau…

I got a gel manicure and they just didn’t put any time or care into doing my nails. They also chipped 2 days after I got it and they didn’t have the color I picked out from their selection so I had to get an alternative they picked. Just horrible crafstmenship and horrible customer service. Never going back!
