Beginning mid May 2018, former Designer’s Nails salon has officially been under new management by Vicky Thach, now known as Nails by Vicky. Vicky has been in the industry for over 6 years. The store has been revamped with a fresh coat of paint, new decor, and furniture. I like Vicky she’s very nice but The lady that did my nails use to work at Crystal nails and she sucks! Some of my nails are shaped side ways and she does a horrible job painting! A few of my nails have air bubbles. I am not happy with the shape and painting! I would not request her doing my nails.

Unacceptable! The gentleman did my nails he cut them down without Checking the length. The owner said next time tell him to check it. no he is the nail tech that’s his job to know that. I’m disgusted because I spend $100.00 atleast every two weeks with this woman. I’m good there are plenty other places in new Britain to get nails done. She Just lost a loyal customer. So money hungry you can’t take 1 minute to appease a loyal customer. Shameful.

This is my go-to whenever I want my nails done. The nail techs are all professional and the place is very clean. You get your own box of nail supplies that they use on you whenever you come in. Highly recommend this salon. They have an arrangement of services available as well. Eyelash extension, eyebrow tinting and so much more.

Vicky does good nails, but her time management is terrible. I’ve been coming for 2 years and every time I make an appointment I have to wait 45mins-1hr. She double books herself and other people have to pay the price. It’s absolutely unprofessional.

Sorry for this being so long but I have been trying nail salons all around New Britain trying to find one I actually like. I gave Nails By Vicky 2 shots to impress me before I move on. My nails are done by the older gentleman I believe his name is Peter(?). First time I went I was impressed by how fast he did my refill so that was a plus. I then showed him a picture of something I wanted done (did not have to be exact) he pretty much just said to pick something that was more simple. So I just chose a solid gel color. When I went home that I actually looked at my nails really well 3 nails on my right hand had so much gel put on them that it bubbled to the side of my nail. By this time clearly the gel was already hardened. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and just decided to deal with it until my next fill. My nails lasted about 11 days before my rt index finger nail fell off and the gel color peeled off. When I had my refill done I asked for them to be cut down. He cut them down with a thick nail clipper causing them to be uneven. He did not file them to be even at all. I asked for a simple French manicure with 2 nails a solid color and he showed me these mood changing colors instead. So I chose since I didn’t want to be that annoying client. Well look at my attached pictures. My nails are terrible. The pictures are 6 days after my fill. IDK what gel they use but something about it is not right. My gel has never peeled off at all. My nails are terrible and I can not wait to soak them off and start a fresh set somewhere else. I guess I will be going back to Bliss Nails. They are the ones I have been most impressed with.
