I got my nails done here for my birthday. The nail tech filed my nails until I bled and I told him he was hurting me several times to which he responded “you are very sensitive” I showed him a nail design that he said he could do and they had the material for- then after calling me sensitive, making me bleed on two fingers and basically finishing my nails he said he couldn’t do the design after all and that they didn’t even have the colors I wanted. So then he came up with his own design and it was nice… at first. Fast forward three days half of the little gems have fallen off, the gel polish on one of my fingers was full of air bubbles that sank and started peeling revealing uncured sticky gel polish underneath. We are now on day five the nails are separating from my actual nail, they look horrible and the only part that is still in tact are the gems he glued on my middle finger that he failed to mention were $15 dollars until I went to pay and the manager told me $10 dollars then changed his mind to $15. If the rest of the gems make it the full week I will be very surprised. Positively, my pedicure was nice. Pictures from day 3

I came here for my birthday since it’s been YEARS since I’ve had my nails done. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with smiles and kind attitudes. Made my nervousness calm down since I’m not familiar with nail lingo plus i have shaky hands. David took great care doing a gel manicure with purple tips and a simple design on my ring fingers. He makes sure you like not only the color, but the design. He asks questions to make you get what you want. Just left from getting my gel fill- full blue glitter (509 sapphire blue) and a moon and shooting star designs on ring fingers and I am over the moon! Absolutely beautiful

Over the years, I have tried many salons in the area, but Nail Trix in Sykesville is by far my favorite. The design of the salon makes for a relaxing experience from start to finish and the staff have always been attentive with a lot of attention to detail resulting in nice, lasting manicures & pedicures. I received a very slow and poorly done manicure/pedicure (regular polish not gel or dip) on a Saturday after making an appointment for 2:00 that the technician wasn’t “finished” with until 3:50. It looked awful—maybe it was old nail polish? Regardless another seemingly more experienced technician tried to touch it up—and I didn’t leave the salon until 4:30. My nails were still not dry by 5:30 because it was so gloppy and today they just looked horrible, not at all like a professional job. I went back and asked the owner to please just remove the nail polish and return my payment. Of course I wouldn’t ask for the $10 tip back, but I did expect the $52 payment returned. He removed my nail polish, apologized and asked me to remove the negative review I’d left and quietly handed me a wad of cash as I was leaving. I assumed he didn’t want to make a scene and I can appreciate that this was an isolated instance. I’ve come here before and had a very positive experience and I don’t want to impact anybody’s business in a negative way. I was shocked when I got to my car and saw he’d only given me $30. I spent 2.5 hours and $52 plus a $10 tip—and after having the awful looking polish removed and agreeing to remove the review the owner still rips me off for $22 and somebody has $10 because I don’t have it in me to not tip people in the service industry. Sykesville is full of nail salons, if you don’t know who to ask for—to make sure you don’t get a two hour mani/pedi that looks like it was done by a blind person—go to any of the others!

This is a very nice salon. It is BEAUTIFUL on the inside and clean too. Smells good as well. Doesn’t even smell like a nail salon. The guy who did my nails was really good. He went over my skin a little bit with sharp electric nail file, but it was good over all. Would I go again, sure!! He did a great job. Just will tell him not to cut me so much next time.
