Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI was happy to get in for a last minute haircut which I should’ve taken as my first warning. All the best are usually booked solid but I figured maybe they had a cancellation. I walk in for my appt with some woman named Coco. Barely said hello to me, not welcoming or friendly. Washed my hair, not a good experience she was texting with one hand and washing my head with the other. Walk over to her station, she asks what cut I want. I tell her shoulder length all around and even showed her a picture. She holds my hair out and cuts it way above my shoulder.. my jaw dropped and my eyes went wide. I tell her it’s too short she then cuts the rest of my hair to my shoulder making it completely uneven. Also, she blow dried my hair but the back was still damp but I’ve never gotten a worse haircut in my life I wanted to get the hell out of there. I guess I have to curl my hair or clip the shorter side up to make it less noticeable. Moxie in Wayne is the only salon that I’ll ever go too because of my stylist, Victor. He has 20+ years of experience and really understands and listens to what YOU want for your hair. When I started going to him, it was because I had a hair crisis. He took the time to talk with me about what it was I wanted the end result to be for my hair. He made me feel comfortable, like I was in the best hands after a bad experience. My hair has never looked or felt better, I recommend him for anyone that is looking for a stylist that has a lot of experience and is always staying current with trends.

I came in to Moxie with a hair crisis – a grown out haircut that didn’t suit me, terrible visible roots and an event to go to that evening. I was put in the capable hands of Lucia, who had a frank and realistic conversation with me about my hair needs and what was possible. I wanted to lift my hair to its natural colour again (frankly, that was silly of me to expect that to happen that afternoon!) and I wanted a low maintenance haircut to help blend my grown out undercut. She would not do any lifting without first doing a patch test, and because I needed a solution that day we decided on using a glaze on my roots to tone it with the darker hair for the time-being, and a layered bob that suited my hair texture. My experience was very relaxed, Lucia knew what she was doing and toned my roots perfectly, as well as giving me recommendations for maintenance to increase the longevity of a semi permanent dye. We had a talk about hair texture and how I generally cared for my hair, and she asked for feedback every step of the way as she cut it. I ended up with a gorgeous cut that worked great with my fine but full straight hair, with lots of movement and volume, and my undercut was finally blended in with the rest of my hair.

Love Moxie, however I had one stylist who was very rude and not friendly at all. I asked for curls for my hair for my blow out and she rushed it. I would say her name, but I don’t want to hurt her feelings. I just hope Moxie in Wayne works on their professional skills. Customer service is so important!

My daughter had an 8th grade dance to go to so I made an appointment. When I called I described the what we wanted ( which was a tight mohawk French braid into a high ponytail with curls) and they told me they could absolutely do it. I brought a picture and showed the lady who did my daughter’s hair. She was unsure that she would be able to do it but she claimed to be the only one there who could do braids. At that point I had no time to try to switch and find somewhere else to get the hair done. So she went on with the hairstyle and it came out nothing like we wanted. The lady had an attitude from start to finish. I tried to stop her in the middle to make sure that she knew exactly what we wanted and she told me that if she spoke while she worked she would be unable to finish her job. I was just very disappointed. I feel like there was no love or care put into the hairstyle. This was my daughter’s first time getting her hair styled and it was a special occasion. The braid came out Loose and crooked, it did not go straight. Also after telling me that she was the only one who did braids I noticed that two other girls got their hair done and got Braids by other stylists and it looked great.

Went for a simple blowout and my stylist (Eileen) complained multiple times that I had thick hair and that it was taking her a long time. She refused to use heat on my hair and I left with my hair frizzy, because she refused to use heat, still wet in the back and with several spots still curly. I definitely would not recommend, pay the extra few bucks for a higher end salon.
