Made an appointment to this new salon last minute – they were super accommodating and and professional. Loved my new hair cut and blow out by Jamie! The salon is very well kept and the owner and gentleman, Jamie, cutting and blow drying my hair were very pleasant and made it a great experience. I’m glad they’re in the neighborhood- I’ll definitely be back and would recommend this place to all my friends!

I came to Moxie Edgewater to get glammed up for a Central Park wedding. I met Nanie and she gave me a complete makeover! She’s clearly an expert with hair and makeup. I loved the blowout, lots of volume and the curls stayed. My make up was also great, I love how I looked in all of the photos. I enjoyed my experience so much, I came back to Nanie for a haircut and color, once again I was blown away! I highly recommend, it’s so reasonably priced and I love that you can get hair and makeup done in the same place!

Dishonest/Misleading/Petty. I have long hair, and get a blow out weekly (at times bi-weekly). Since moving from NYC (UES, where I paid $45 for a blow out) I found a convenient asno-frills salon steps from my home for weekly blowouts. Yesterday, while walking out of a restaurant and passing by Moxie one of their staff handed me a card for a $15.99 intro blow out for first time clients. I thought it would be great to give them a try in hopes of finding a new permanent stylist for weekly visits. Being pleasantly surprised at the 15.99 intro price I made it a point to see if any exclusions applied…all that was listed “offer for first time clients”. Making the appointment for today was easy, my stylist was fine and the blow out was ok. The stylist spent 55 minutes on me, including the wash. Prior to checking out I tipped the stylist $20 in cash – and then made my way to the front desk to pay the 15.99. Right away the receptionist told me it would be $75 – at which point I handed her the promo card. She quickly said “great!” followed by a stern “but I’m going to have to charge you an extra $20 for the length and curls” (there were barely any waves made by a round brush at the tips, no curling iron was used). I was stunned (both at the $75 franchise blow out & the bait and switch promo) but would never argue over $20. I smiled, paid – and will not be returning while sharing this experience with local friends who are always on the lookout for new stylists as well. Absolutely silly to mislead people this way and loose potential frequent clients over fake promos and $20.

Having felt run down and beat up by a slew of medical difficulties this year…I walked into Moxie of Edgewater this morning and they really helped me to feel not only human again -but also alive! A blowout, eyebrow threading and some makeup had really helped…they couldn’t have been more lovely here and I will 100% be back!!!!

This was literally the worst blow dry I have ever received in my life. The lady was sweet but she barely touched my scalp during the wash. Then, did not apply heat protectant or detangler. She then started the rough dry and tugged on my hairline before even detangling my hair. After, she sectioned my hair for the blow dry and just kept tugging on my hair and hairline to the point where I had a headache for 30 minutes after the appointment. I was miserable the entire time. My hair came out OK. Lastly, we were charged FULL price for the blow dry when there’s a discount advertised everywhere and not mentioned to us. I didn’t bring it up because I was dying to get out of there, I just wanted to pay and leave. The ONLY reason I put 2 stars is because my mom really liked her blow dry. The treatment she received verses the one I received was night and day. I usually like this franchise (Clifton and Secaucus) but this location truly sucked.
