It’s always a pleasure to be with Dr. Simon. She provides a detailed review of my entire body which makes Duke quite happy as they insist on a good Melanoma check on the outside, while Duke provides test results on the inside. I’m feeling good…thanks to all.

I went in for a concern I was having. Dr. Redmond was great as he was patient and kind, two traits others in this office do not possess, specifically the women at the front desk. I called in yesterday to change the time of my appointment because, as I learned when completing the early check-in form, the office had changed it without my consent. The woman who answered the phone was very rude with her tone and also spoke over me, often interrupting me. She had no concern for me as a patient. As I was about to ask a question, she rudely interrupted me with her hateful tone and loudly asked if I was going to make a payment on my balance, a balance I was unaware of until I received the statement two days prior to this call. For those of you that do not know, payments to Piedmont Health are due up to 30 days after you received the bill. I told her I would not be making a payment at that time. Then she rudely asked if I’m going to make a payment on the day of my visit, which is three days from this call. Again I said no and reminded her again that I only received a statement this week. To my surprise she had the audacity to tell me that my payment is already late and once again asked if I would be making a payment on the day of my appointment. I informed her the bill isn’t late and that I will make a payment when I am prepared to do so. Only after that scuttle did she look into the date of the statement before coming back to say that it is not late, however, she didn’t apologize for her mistake and also said, with judgement in her tone, that my insurance is slow to pay. I called her out on being rude and speaking over me and she became irate. I asked to speak to the office manager to no avail. I finally spoke to said office manager, Paige, today and she practically dismissed what happed and only said she would talk to the girl about the issue then quickly changed the subject. No apology was issued. Also, as I was explaining the issues with my previous phone call, she could be heard sighing heavily which suggest that she does not care about patient experience. As the leader of this office, her behavior sets the tone for the rest of the staff and after chatting with her it’s clear that within this office it’s acceptable for staff to be rude to patients and speak in a harassing manner when it comes to payments. I’m going to, with great hesitance, go to what will be my final upcoming appointment that is needed and I won’t be returning. I would not and will not be recommending this office to anyone looking for a dermatologist as the services are overpriced and the push for payments screams desperation while suggesting that the business is hurting for money. For anyone who reads this review, take your money elsewhere and go to a dermatologist office that doesn’t have staff harassing patients and where patients are instead treated with both dignity and respect by ALL of the staff.

Dr. Simon and the team are so knowledgeable and thorough. The office is responsive and considerate. They even go an extra step for me to find my meds at the lowest price possible. Her regular care has helped me prevent more serious cancer and more evasive procedures.

Everyone in the office is very helpful. Dr Simon is the best. She finds the smallest spot and explains what it is. She has saved my life once by catching the smallest melanoma spot before it spread.

Looking at all these reviews, I should have seen Naomi Simon apparently. Don’t recommend the NP, Heather H., at ALL. Scheduled a new patient appointment for full check over. When asked if I had any concerns, I had one spot I wanted her to look at. All of a sudden the visit turned into being able to only address that one spot (and up to 2 more if I wanted-which I didn’t). 5 minutes and $500 later it was a benign spot AND I had to go BACK in for an exam visit. I gave it the second chance, went today and when they asked me if I had any concerns, I said “no, learned my lesson the first time. I tell you I have something I want looked at and I won’t get the exam again” The Medical Asst was pretty much rude after that. The NP was condescending. If she had her way, she would have biopsied 3 more spots on me, 2 of which I’ve had for years, with no change in color, border, size or shape and previous Dermatologists have looked at and said are fine. We can do 3 biopsies and an exam but we couldn’t do 1 biopsy and exam last visit??? The 3rd spot, I’ll get a second opinion on and let someone else biopsy at this point and won’t be back to this office.
