Opening in March, 2013 with a goal to change the standard of men’s grooming in portland, Maine; we set out in a mission that quickly cemented in modern barbering. Introducing cleaner cuts, better service, high reliability, consistent scheduling, and straight razor finishes. Something that previously was unfamiliar to Portland natives. 9.5 years later, we’ve spawned a movement and have inspired dozens of numerous new shops, barber schools, and dozens of fresh barbers all over Maine. With our new location being a turn of the leaf, we’ve set new goals to take things to the next level and look forward to the next segment here in Portland.

Worst haircut I’ve ever had in my life. Barber seemed for focused on getting me out of there than giving a quality haircut. One ear has hair shaved a quarter inch while the other has hair all the way down to it. There are noticeable spots left in my hair where the barber forgot to cut. The haircut itself took around 10-15 minutes, one of the quickest haircuts I have ever gotten. Will now have to pay the same amount to get it redone and fixed by a barber that actually knows what he’s doing. Will never come back and I will never suggest it to anyone.

The barber did a very good job with my haircut. He was very meticulous and has attention to details. Booking for an appointment online was quick and easy too.I just hope the management will improve on regularly cleaning all the cut hair on the floor after each haircut. Great experience there today! While I’m not normally one to review on Google, Jason H deserves recognition! Even though I was his last client of the day, instead of trying to get me out the door, he took his time and went above and beyond to fix the bad experience I had at a previous barber shop. He gave me one of the best cuts I have had in years! He also lined up the beard nicely as well. Highly recommend Jason H and Momentum!

Not a place for kids. They did a great job cutting my son’s hair but while we were there this morning, an adult client vaped throughout his appointment, making the room smell like a cigarette. Two of the barbers had a conversation about “all the moms” in the room that my 11yo had a lot of questions about on the ride home. This place is fine for consenting adults but we’ll be looking for somewhere different for our kid.

Worst haircut of my life the barber was very touchy and plays with hair in a way that you would not like to be touched (I am under age) it was the most uncomfortable situation in my life by far, I didn’t know what was going on at the moment as I was in a rush and wasn’t sure exactly whether I was imaging it as I barely get haircuts but looking back at it the barber was very weird and gave a very uncomfortable energy and I am commenting this not so the manager can report it and have the review taken down as I commented the same thing earlier . And because people don’t always know what to do in such a situation and to avoid people feeling uncomfortable by some touchy barber who has issues considering how he plays with your hair and gives a very weird energy for a man cutting a mans hair or anyone’s hair!! I am surprised no one from staff reacted I hope that isn’t the norm there … I tried to keep things casual and ignore and I wish I reacted better at the moment. Manager instead of reporting this review like U did with last comment how about address the issue I think they all know who it was. This happened august 25-26. (I commented before but I am recommending after finding out that comment was taken down. I don’t want this place to lose business but if i feel abused I am gonna speak up and I hope that this is avoided for future customers as just because a barber has control issues or whatever the issues may be doesn’t mean that they have to scar someone in that chair by flirting with his hair and giving weirddd vibes by weird don’t underestimate I mean weirddd.
