I just had the most wonderful experience at Moisture Salon. I received a cut that exemplifies how to do a curly cut. I was also given great instructions and the tools I need to take care of my hair. Both the stylist and owner took the time to make sure I was educated on maintaining my curly hair and that I was happy with my cut. I couldn’t believe my curls could look so defined and be so soft, but Moisture Salon was able to show me the beauty of my curls.

Do not support this business. Ron, the owner, talks down to, dismisses, and disrespects his clients. Read the reviews of the numerous other women w the same experience and believe them. He does not deserve your business or support. He also clearly cannot take criticism given that he feels the need to respond to every negative comment about him. Ron does not deserve support for the way he treats people.

He literally cuts each curl one by one which is why he insists you go with dry hair. He teaches you how to style and what products to use. I used to have to get my cut every 7 weeks. With Ron you can go months so don’t let pricing scare you. Because he is so knowledgeable about cutting hair, your style will still look great 6 months later. So if you’re one of those that need a cut every 7 weeks, you save money in the long run because your style will last much longer. His salon is super clean. He and Brooke are amazing. I have been going to Moisture Salon for my hair for at least 5 years now. I (long curly hair) see Ron and my boyfriend (long curly hair) sees Brooke (since 2018) – Ron and Brooke are AMAZING in every way. They will instruct you on how to wash, style, and care for your curly hair during your first cut, and each cut and styling they provide are so quality you will only have to go for touch ups every 6 months or so (which I feel like is unheard of). I had a terrible experience with the owner, Ron, and I will not return. On the morning of my appointment there was unexpected snow and the driving conditions were not good. I was coming from over an hour away and did not feel comfortable driving that distance in wet snow so I called to reschedule. Ron was very annoyed and combative on the phone and said he would charge me anyway and that I shouldn’t have made an appointment during the winter. This is a very expensive salon – $95 for a haircut, an amount I cannot afford to pay twice. Against my better judgement I decided to drive in so as not to pay for nothing. The conditions were terrible on the roads the nearer I got to Schenectady – school had been cancelled due to the snow, there were warning signs on the thruway, visibility was poor, a car had gone off the road. Worst of all, I am very unhappy with my cut – the stylist was not able to do what I asked, which was to keep my hair from falling over my eyes and face and it looks as messy as it did before. I will not be giving my money to a business that is so inflexible in its cancellation policy and has so little regard for the safety of their clients. Extremely disappointed with my experience at the salon and I do not recommend, unless you really want an overpriced mediocre haircut and don’t mind giving money to an owner who is a jerk to his clients.

Was my first time here and definitely won’t be my last. Had the beat experience ever. I tend to hate getting my haircut and they made me feel so comfortable. Highly recommend this place. Brooke cut my hair and she was the sweetest!!!!

As a person that has struggled with frizzy, sort of curly hair I went to Moisture Salon with high hopes. They did not disappoint! My experience was fantastic and I am so happy with the results. Most importantly the step by step instructions and product to keep my hair looking amazing. Thank you Brooke, Alana and Ron! Highly recommend!
