Honestly, I would give this place zero stars if I could. I went in for a full set the day before my wedding, and a man who did my nails through on a full set in 10 minutes.

I live in the area and I’ve noticed out of all the salons in the area, Modern Nails always has the shortest wait time. I have been here a handful of times and I’ve also noticed their services are also quicker than everywhere else, sometimes I like being able to get in and out. Other times, I wish they would spend more time on the service I’m being provided, especially because of the money I’m putting towards the service and tip. Today, however, was the worst manicure I’ve ever had. The service lasted not even 10 minutes and she didn’t do anything with my cuticles what so ever. The paint job was pretty sloppy and I feel she was just rushing to get it done. She didn’t apply lotion or give a hand massage either. I just feel many steps were skipped. I’m pretty disappointed and don’t think I’ll be returning.

OFFENSIVE. My daughter and I live in the area and get our nails done regularly. They are by far the best shop in the area by way of skill and professionalism. However we have consistently noticed that only people of color are asked to pay in cash, whilst everyone else is allowed to pay by debit or credit . There is no sign posted stating “cash only”. So I inquired about the policy and was given about 3 different excuses, after reasoning that even though the ATM is free certain financial institutions still charge a fee for those transactions. I was then brushed off nonchalantly and barely thanked for my business. I spend no less than $150 per visit biweekly for these services. If I couldn’t afford to pay I would not do it. The DISRESPECT was real. No one should support this type of behavior! Beware ladies!

Just ok. The woman doing my pedicure was super sweet but my toes are kinda looking sloppily painted. Also, on every pedicure I’ve had before this one there was always a massage with lotion not with this one. She did briefly massage with an exfoliator but that was it. I really haven’t found a great place here in Monroe so the search continues!

I went in to get my French tips re done and this dude ripped all my nails off with another nail and charged me $10 for take off. I thought we were gonna soak and take it off. otherwise I would’ve just done that at home smh. Then he didn’t even match my nails up to the tips he just eyeballed and glued them on, which came out crooked… Then to top it off he didn’t tell me to wash my hands until the very end so all the dust and particles from filing and shaping the nails ended up in my manicure. I don’t know the name of this man but… do better.

I always have a great experience here. They do a great job, and are friendly, kind, professional and clean. I started coming here because whenever I would see someone who’s acrylics looked really good, I would compliment them and ask them where they got them done,and it was always MODERN NAILS!
