After a long week of work I was excited to get my nails done. I went to Modern Nails & Spa where I had a bad experience about three years ago and decided to not go back. I decided to give them another try when I saw my co-workers nails. She recommended Vicky. My first experience with her was ok. She was not friendly or talkative and that’s fine. I just wanted beautiful nails which I got after sitting in her chair for two hours. The design on four nails was not that difficult. The second time I brought my child with me and Vicky was rude to my child telling her to be still. All my child did was stand up and hit her table a little. I asked Vicky “Are you having a good day?” She said “Yes.” I left it at that. In between the first and second visit my co-worker advised me Vicky asked her “You friends with black girls?” Why does that matter? Asian hate is real too. Fast forward to yesterday. I went into Modern Nails and asked Vicky how many people she had and she said two. About 20-30 minutes later the man sitting to the right completely skipped over me and asked the lady who came in after me was she ready. She said “She was first.” He then said to me “Vicky said she doesn’t have time to do your nails today.” He then went right back to the woman who came in after me who was Caucasian and asked was she ready. She said again “But she was first.” Thank you to that lady for having morals and common courtesy. At that point I felt completely mistreated and discriminated against. Eventually after some debate I sat in someone’s chair. He advised me Vicky said that I never know what I want. So clearly they were talking about me in their language. Also the only thing I was not sure of the two times Vicky did my nails was the design. I knew I wanted matte. While she did the matte acrylic I would look for designs. By the time she would be basically done I would have a design ready. She just did not want to do my nails. I feel like they would never treat a Caucasian or fellow Asian like that because I saw it with my own eyes many times. I will never go back there. I encourage anyone who has had the same treatment to never go back. I know good nail techs are hard to find in Texarkana but that is unacceptable and morally wrong. I’m disgusted and traumatized. This happened to me in a room full of people. Modern Nails is not modern at all. The name should be changed. My nail tech did a poor job on my nails. As you can see around the cuticle the acrylic is not seamless which can cause lifting and possible nail fungus. This should have been $20, not $55. I was robbed. DO NOT GO HERE!

I’ve been to this salon twice for a pedicure for myself, and they were nice and got my feet looking beautiful, although I could tell it wasn’t the best. I took my daughter a couple weeks ago for a set (1st ever for back to school) and the nail tech did them a little too long for her to play volleyball, but they were super cute so we decided to keep it. Fast forward to today, we arrived about 25 minutes before close, and all she needed was ONE nail fixed and the others trimmed. The sign was still on that they were open, but we walked in and the lady said they were already closed. Without asking what we needed or anything, and there were people sitting doing nothing. I told her that the sign said that they’re still open, and she said “sorry, try tomorrow”. Very rude, waved us out the door. Won’t be back.

I went here for a few years. One of the employees insisted on ripping out the sides of my toenails causing them to be ingrown. All of my adult life I have never had ingrown nails. My last visit was with my sister for her birthday. This visit alone I had to stop the tech four times from ripping out the side of my nail. Ever since, now more than two years later, I have terrible ingrown nails. I will never go back.

I would give it less than one start if i could!!! The worst nail experience and worst custumer service ever! That it left me shocked and speachless! While doing my nails the guy gave me an unwelcomed facial expressions throughout the whole time. I asked him if he could do a darker color on my nails and he said that I was wasting his time. Just did a very poor and careless job on a full set of acrylics and gel paint.

I always feel terrible writing negative reviews but i was very disappointed! I paid $80 for a manicure and pedicure and was in and out in 34 mins! that includes the 5 mins of waiting.. they spent 15 mins total on my pedicure including painting them. I definitely won’t be spending my money there again. I go to feel pampered and relaxed and I felt very rushed and like they were in a hurry. disappointing but it’s a lesson learned!

I got a refill and a nail fixed yesterday no color just regular acrylic they charged me 40 dollars for that the time before that I had my baby with me to get her toes done I called before hand to make sure it was ok n it was I came in with her and he was very rude about it she loves getting her nails done and she sits well he got mad at the lady for going ahead and doing them I say 10-15 mins later my daughter crossed her legs and she come back and tries to push her leg down telling her to not cross her legs one thing I don’t play about is my baby don’t come over here trying to push her leg down lady it’s unprofessional and out of wack and reading the other reviews I see now that they do treat they customers different I have been going to them for at least two years I’ve been told I couldn’t get acrylic on my toes r that I have to get the glued tip attached I’m order to get acrylic which is a lie I’ve had it done before and matter off fact I’ve had it done there before I’m just so over them and how rude and unprofessional they are
