This is an absolutely beautiful salon – clean, tidy, and super cute decor, too. The owner/stylist, Erika, is honestly one of the best stylists I have ever been to, and also one of the kindest. I had recently gone through a tragic loss when I got my hair done by her, and she was so considerate of my feelings; she let me take as many breaks as I needed, and we just had great conversation. You can tell that she loves what she does through her work, how she treats her clients, and how she keeps the salon. She just does amazing work, and it’s an all around great experience. I would recommend any family member or friend to go to Erika.

Collin is the best! While his shop is called Modern Barber, he is far more than a barber. He is an artist! I wouldn’t let anybody else color my hair. I have to get back on Mercer Street to access I-5 after my visits, which sometimes takes just as long as my hair appointment itself, but it’s totally worth it!

This is the only place in the state that sells Overtone product so I tried to make the trip from Vashon to get some. Called multiple times to try and make sure they had the product I was looking for- no answer. That should’ve been clue one, but website said they were open so I made the trip.

They’re the only overtone retailer in Seattle and are by appointment only so if you just want to walk in and grab a product real quick you’re out of luck unless they’re working on someone in the chair. Pretty inconvenient.
