I made an appointment. Showed up 5 minutes before my appointment. My barber never said a word to me and just started serving all of his friends (that showed up at the same time as me and after me). After about 30 minutes he finally told me he was sorry he was falling behind. I ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes and I’m going to have to go home and fix this up.

I am a young barber myself and decided to go in and give this place a shot since i didn’t have time to cut my own hair this week, and if theres anything i can say, its that 1. The place looks extremely dirty. They have old dusty fans blowing wind right on your face and 2. they dont know how to blend AT ALL. I showed the barber a photo of what i wanted exactly and he did the complete opposite. My sides were supposed to be LOW faded and he cut them using what looked like one size completely all around. He took a long time which let me know he really didn’t know what he was doing. He kept asking how far I wanted the fade when i had already shown him the photo that he said he could do and just ruined my hair. He also left very noticeable cut lines on one side of my head that im going to have to fix myself. Smh, not worth $20. I could not believe how bad my haircut was. As a first time customer, I will NOT be returning! And i do not recommend this place. Apparently a low fade is too difficult. Either that or the guy wasn’t even a real barber. ♂️

My usual barber shop, almost always satisfied. It can be busy after school and definitely on the weekends. If you want your haircut quickly, either call and make an appointment or go early in the morning. Other than that great place.

My son had a horrible hair cut experience from another shop. I needed someone to fix asap. The called the young men in this shop and even though they were fully booked they helped fix my sons hair! They were so kind and did a great job fixing my sons tragic hair cut! Also, they have excellent prices! Son said they were a little rough but he’s also very tender headed. Will for sure be back! Great job guys! Im glad to support such a great group of local men!

It’s not that great, my barber rushed my haircut. If you want a good long worthy expensive haircut go to the Dominican barbershop in Raleigh. Barbershops that are $20 are bad. I went because my barber was out of town. It’s my first and last time going, no one can cut hair like the Dominicans Haircut

I like coming to Mims barber shop, I bring my boys here every 2 wks to have their haircuts done by one of Mims barber professionals. My boys and I always leave happy with their hair and family oriented treatment. They are speedy at times but the only slows down do to the amount of customers they have, but that shows their talent and how much their trusted. Best believe you’ll leave happy.
