Critical: QualityI am an African American woman with natural hair. I have never had a perm or a relaxer in my life. I went in to the Melina hair salon for a wash and set. And they put relaxer my hair. All my hair fell out.It’s unfortunate that it is so difficult to trust a person Who is supposed to be a professional to do the right thing. Part of hair styling is hair care. Customers trust a hair stylist to care for their hair, we trust them to consult us, to be honest with us about what they are going to do to our hair and what the expected outcome will be.Not to do what ever is convenient for them. If they can’t do a simple wash and set on natural hair, they should just say that.Moral of the story, Don’t trust your hair to these people at this salon. Especially if your hair is natural. I did not like how the owner tried to increase the price and make the other lady pretend she put in a product in my hair when she didn’t. I had a simple wash, rollers and blower. I didn’t put anything else or even flat iron my hair which they try to pressure you into doing. I have been to many Dominican hair stylist. This is by far the worst one.

The place was clean and courteous employees to attend. However, they had to call the boss to ask for the price for my perm which I found strange. I asked for the price for wash and rinse and they could not tell me. I like a salon that have a set price they don’t. I won’t be going back.

I admit the blowouts are the best when it comes to getting your curls straight. The prices are shifty though. They will give you one quote when you 1st arrive, but when they start it changes to something way higher.
