Called to see if I could come in at 7:50 (they close at 8) for a six minute tan and was told they don’t take tans after 7:40. Called the other location and they accept until 8pm. Drove all the way up just to have to turn around right before I got there.

Midnight Sun used to be my go to spot for spray tans. Never Again! First off, if you ever get a coupon for them, don’t waste your time! Look at the bottom of the coupon and where is says “other restrictions may apply” that means that if you have ever used a coupon there in your LIFETIME, you will never be able to use another ever again. Apparently I used a $5 off coupon with them 3 years ago in 2014 and they wouldn’t allow me to use a 20% off coupon in 2017.

After reading several good reviews, I decided to try Midnite Sun at Knapp’s Corner. Unfortunately, my disappointment was too great for me not to post this review. The place appeared empty (maybe the beds had some people in them?), and one woman walked in before me. I waited while she asked questions and when she had to go back to her vehicle to get something, I expected the salesperson to answer a question or two for me (since there was no one else there), but instead she told me to sit down and she would “get back with me” once the customer comes back in the store and is done. Wow.. really? I can’t even ask a question? So I patiently sat down and waited what seemed like another 5-10 minutes. When I finally got up to speak to the salesperson, she only tried to sell me on products and explaining why I needed them. While being polite and indicating I just didn’t need or want them and that I was ready to tan (spray tan), she would not let me pay and go in!! She was forcing me to buy products! I have spray tanned before so I knew exactly what I was doing (unfortunately the place I had gone to was no longer in business and that is what brought me to Midnite Sun). She was requiring me to buy product that I’d never use just in order to use the spray tan booth. Needless to say, I walked out of the place and will never go back. Customer service was nonexistent and disappointing (even a bit condescending), but the salesperson showed up that day. Midnite Sun basically said goodbye to someone that had the money and just wanted to use the spray tan booth. My husband and I both own businesses.. and are always shocked at this type of ‘customer service’.

I just had the WORST experience. I usually go tanning about once a month, I know my skin, I know what works for me, and I never have any problems. So tonight I go in and not only does the lady give me a high pressure sales pitch about how I just HAVE to buy a package (which I politely decline several times, maybe get the hint and cool it after I say no the first two times?) she tries to upgrade my single visit to the $30+ bed (maybe $20+, doesn’t matter, whatever it was it was WAY too much to pay for one time in a tanning bed) so after repeatedly telling her no thanks I just say “well I burn a little easily but then it turns into a tan, and I’ve never had much luck with the fancy beds, so can I just do the fast bed please because that’s what I like and what I want and I’ll be fine?” (I’m begging at this point…) So she pulls out her little FDA chart and tells me that based on my “skin type” and what I’ve just said, (MY SKIN GETS A LITTLE RED AFTER SUN EXPOSURE, ALERT THE AUTHORITIES) I can’t go for more than 8 minutes.. I’m bartering with her now… 12 minutes? Okay fine, how about 10? Nope, she knows her beds, she knows my body so 8 minutes max. Finally I just tell her she’s ruined my night and leave.
