Edit to add in response: As a paying customer, my opinion on my hair matters greatly and it was awful, even my neighbor laughed at me when I got home. I was horribly embarrassed walking out of your salon. You should care about that. As for no first name, that’s just smart in this day and age for a woman.

Hadn’t cut my hair in a long time because I recently moved to Charleston and had several not so quality cuts, so I was a little nervous to try again. But wow, Michael gave me the best cut I’ve had in a long time, with little but a photo to go off of, and in half the time I’m normally in the chair. I will definitely be a returning customer.

I live out of state and had to come to CAMC unexpectedly because my mother had a stroke. I had an appointment with my stylist the next day which I missed. After 2 weeks staying with my Mom in the hospital I was desperate for a haircut and color. Michael generously worked me in and gave me a beautiful cut and color. I was extremely pleased. He was kind and professional. The shop is pleasant and a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend an appointment with Michael for a gorgeous hair do!

Critical: QualityI do not see all the rave about this stylist. Was in town on business and chose Michael because of all the great reviews. I have naturally curly hair and require a precision tailored style haircut. All he did was snip at my hair and butchered it up so bad I could not style it the next day. There were bare areas in my hair and pieces sticking up. It absolutely had no shape. The next hairdresser I used while on business in Florida made a comment about how my hair had no definition in the cut. I never said a word to her about Michael. It was clearly her observation. He is not all that the reviews say and certainly not worth the $65.00 I had to pay. Will not be using Michael next time I’m in Charleston. I dropped in to see David Mayes for a quick neck-trim-turned-clean-up today thanks to a last minute cancellation… and… I think…. I think I’ve just stumbled upon an actual hair wizard. I live in New York but have a sneaking suspicion I’m going to be coming back to visit my brother in Charleston more often so I can sneak in to see David for my cuts, now. David’s been doing hair for 50 years and it shows – he knows EXACTLY what you mean and how to achieve it. So delighted!!!
