Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueUnfortunately I had a terrible experience with Micah, the owner of Micah’s Salon and Beauty. I cannot speak about the other ladies, but as she is the owner, and i saw first hand the type of customer service she provides, i would not recommend this salon. I scheduled and paid for my services two months in advance. I found it strange that payment was due in full at the time of booking, but i was desperate to find a good hair stylist and I had heard good things, so I thought ok. The day before my appointment i received a confirmation email and normally would not have thought anything else about it, but for some reason i checked my email again, less than 3 hours later and found that i had received an automated cancellation email. No phone call, no explanation, just cancelled. I reached out to her the next morning by text, as that’s pretty much the only way she communicates, and she told me she had a meeting during my appointment time and we could re-schedule. I felt this was pretty rude as it was last minute, already paid for, and her own cancellation policy does not allow last minute cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment, However she was ok with cancelling on me within the 24 hour period with not so much as a phone call. I told her that i felt she had left me with no choice as i had already re-arranged meetings and would have to change plans with my sisters. She did reply and agree to honor the original appointment time, again with no apology, but again, i really needed my hair done. She asked if i could come in early and i did. She was not necessarily rude during my appointment, but not friendly. which i was fine with. However i did feel like she rushed through the appointment. Meaning, she left quit a bit of color on my forehead that i had to ask to her to try and remove, she didn’t let me check the color or length before she started styling and it just overall felt rushed. So once she was done, i check the color and it was pretty clear i wasn’t happy. Honestly, i was so upset by this point, i couldn’t bring myself to say anything and she was more than ok with that. Once i arrived home, less than hour later, i had my sister take pictures and send to her. i told her i was not happy with it, and should have told her before i left, but was too upset. The color was not exactly what i asked for but my biggest problem was that there was no blending. There is a clear line around my head. She did not answer until mid day the next day after two more texts asking for a response. She simply replied, that if i wanted to make changes, i could book another appointment. I assumed this would be free of charge as i have never been charged for a hairstylist to fix their mistake. I asked her to confirm, and she did. She wanted another $70 to fix her mistake. I responded 3 more times, basically just saying i didn’t think that was right and asking her to fix her mistake and just make it right. No response. I have never dealt with a hairstylist who just didn’t care about her clients being happy at all. I was not asking for a whole new color. I just wanted it blended. And she won’t even respond at this point. Honestly, i think we’ve all had bad experiences with our hair, but if they’re willing to try and make it right so am I. But never have i seen anything like this. At a time where i’m struggling to do any kind of self care, and i was actually looking forward to this appointment for the first time in two years, i was just devastated by the whole experience.
