Had several wonderful experiences here but will not be returning. I made an appointment to see Julie today, back in December, and while I completely understand cancelling an appointment due to illness (Hannah was extremely nice when she called to notify me, it’s not her fault), it is not acceptable to give less than an hour’s notice for the cancellation (we were literally walking out the door to the appointment). Julie is a wonderful business owner, very Covid-conscious throughout the establishment, and talented at what she does. Last minute cancellations (I don’t think an hour’s notice is too much to ask for, I typically know an hour out if I am going to be too ill to work) do completely sour me on a business though, as I have my own needs for routine. I hope Metropolis continues to do well and I will pursue the right salon for me elsewhere. The staff and environment here are lovely, I would recommend it to most with a disclaimer that if their appointment is cancelled, there may be less than an hour’s notice.

Amazing! I followed my stylist to this salon and am happy with the environment. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have naturally dark hair and have been lightning my hair for 2 years. Before we start a session we go over what I am wanting to do and what Edith believes my hair can do in that session. I always leave with my hair feeling and looking better than what it did going in. I would recommend!

Scarlett gives an amazing haircut. Her fade is impeccable. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to cut my hair. The salon has a warm and inviting vibe. They always offer me a drink when I walk in and make me feel welcome. They are a very professional staff, and it is always a great experience.

I’ve been getting my hair cut at Metropolis for probably 15 years or more, back when they started over by the Walton Arts Center. All of the staff is incredibly professional and helpful and really listen to ideas customers have about hair. But more importantly, they are highly trained at everything they do. They are awesome at both men’s and women’s cuts, hair coloring, makeup; everything really. They have stylists that can go on site for weddings and events. Highly recommended!

This is the first salon I have been to that has such a calm atmosphere and very welcoming. Nice to sit back and relax after a long day at work, have a beer while getting your hair done! Scarlett Howell did an amazing job on my hair and look forward to my color appointment at the beginning of the year with her! Keep up the great work girls!

Jess colored my hair from a brassy orange/pink with are really nice dark brown. It’s beautiful! I’ll miss my brassy orange/pink. But! I’m growing my hair out and I wanted a nice even color similar to my natural color. I am one of the unfortunate with light barely there eyebrows and this new hair color makes them stand out a bit! As I am growing my hair out she kindly cut minimal and it looks great and I feel like it’s on the right track for growing out…even with it being cut! Very pleased! Thank you Jess!!! And Metropolis!

I’ve been going to Scarlett now for a year or two. If your a guy, don’t trust another person to cut your hair. They always offer me a drink when I walk in and everyone is very nice. Every stylist there is excellent and i would recommend this salon to anyone with no hesitation.

Had a great experience at this salon. Calley colored my hair & was super friendly. When I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the color (I was going platinum and wanted it especially white), she allowed me to come back a few days later at no charge until my hair looked exactly as I wanted, at no extra charge. She and every other worker were extremely professional and the only thing I’m sorry about is not discovering this salon sooner!

Julie gave me an amazing haircut, a blowout that lasted 2 days and an Olaplex deep condition treatment which was just what my hair needed after a river float. Before I scheduled with Julie I did quite a bit of research on salons in Fayetteville and determined that Metropolis is one of the best salons in town, and Julie one of the best at cuts. And she did not disappoint! When I scheduled I left the particular deep conditioning treatment open-ended, and Julie suggested one of the cheaper treatments since my hair is in pretty good shape (I don’t heat style or do color). I really appreciate her thoughtfulness in suggesting what would be best for my hair instead of pushing the more expensive treatments, which is an experience I’ve had at other salons. Julie is a talented stylist and fun to talk to while she works her magic–she has great energy. Her shampoo technique is top notch and this is the first salon where my neck was comfortable in the shampoo chair. She gently asked me what products I used as we began but was never pushy about getting me to buy anything. I had planned to purchase a new shampoo and conditioner and I love the Olaplex she suggested; I’d had my eye on this line for awhile and Julie’s explanation of how to best use these products was very helpful. I wouldn’t have known this had I just made the purchase from Sephora. After the cut she used some Bumble and Bumble styling products and sent me home with some samples to try out. I can’t recommend Julie and Metropolis Salon enough!
