Since 2014, we have been at the vanguard of downtown revitalization & a part of the fast growing Main Street District, in Columbia, SC. Inspired by travels to NYC, owner Gregory Garrett wanted to create a studio that was welcoming, yet still very luxurious, where every client is treated to the best experience regardless of their status or income.

Shay was absolutely amazing! You can tell she loves and cares about her craft. She was attentive to my requests and my cut and blowout came out PERFECT! And not to mention, the wash experience was so relaxing, not rushed. The salon itself was clean and modern. Receptionist was super welcoming too. It’s only taken me 2 years to finally find my hair stylist/salon here in the SC! Loved everything about it!

I had an appointment with Nichole today and I absolutely love my hair! We cut off about 5 inches to collar bone length. My hair is naturally straight and very flat but she cut it in a way that gave it so much body and movement! My hair has seriously never looked this good and I will for sure come back to Nichole! I recommend her 100% whether your hair is curly or straight because she is a curl specialist. She was very knowledgeable with my questions and I had a wonderful experience. The new salon is super cute as well with lots of plants.

As a client of Metropolis Salon for the past several years, I have had both Shay and Holly as my stylists. They are both talented color experts with a gift for listening to my hair needs and working their magic! The environment of the salon is welcoming, with smiling faces ready to put a drink in your hand and make sure you are pampered for the duration of your appointment. Their new location is bright, open, chic, and even includes massage chairs in the shampoo room. What’s not to love?!

Just had the most amazing experience at Metropolis , Greg and all the staff made me feel so special and welcomed. So very professional, kind, the most organized salon I have ever been to. Greg made me feel like I was the only one in the room , listened to my concerns, likes and dislikes about my hair and communicated solutions. Results, THE BEST hair day this girl has ever had !!!! He listened and delivered me from my tired hair. I actually can not explain fully how wonderful I felt after leaving with my refreshed style and color. Chelsea Derrick put a silver gloss on my hair today and the color is amazing! It took all the yellow out leaving me with shiny soft silver highlights! She styled it beautifully too! I have naturally curly hair so she does it straight for me since I can’t do it! Can’t say enough positives about Metropolis Salon and Chelsea! Highly recommend!! lol

Let me start by saying I would recommend this salon (and specifically, Nichole) to everyone. I’m super happy with the service I received and the atmosphere I received it in. I’ve barely ever had good experiences at salons. After years of bad haircuts and one stylist damaging my hair while lightening (I had to cut the damage off – to my ears!), I was apprehensive to go to another stylist. I let my hair grow for two years before meeting Nichole for a consult. Immediately, I could tell she had knowledge and experience with hair like mine. She made me feel comfortable and never pushed me. It took me almost another year to finally change the color of my hair and I’m SO happy I did. Nichole is a master of her craft and Metropolis is a professional salon that strives to make you feel comfortable and confident. I drive from Lugoff to come here and will continue to do so for as long as Nichole works here.

This was the second time visiting this salon and was again overwhelmed! This time Mariana did my highlights, glaze and haircut. She was extremely knowledgeable and did a fabulous job. I left out of there feeling great. The salon is very classy and top notch. I had a mimosa while my hair processed. The massage chairs are an added bonus while getting your hair shampooed. Mariana also gives a great shampoo. Be sure to visit her! You won’t be sorry.

Just drove over an hour in the pouring rain, bumper to bumper, white knuckles the entire way, just to make my appointment with Felicia. I moved here from NY almost 8 years ago and have tried salon after salon to find the perfect fit, happy to say Metropolis is it, hands down. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about the salon and specifically the quality of service Felicia has to offer. Will continue making the 2 hour round trip ride to see her, it’s that good

I had a wonderful first appointment at Metropolis today. They took me back as soon as I arrived, where I met Chris, who is a joy to be around. The massaging chair during shampoo was awesome, as were his skills. I recently moved to the area and was long overdue for a haircut, and he did exactly what I was hoping for. Thankful to have found a new salon. I will be back.
