Dr Hughes is thorough and caring. She listens to concerns and answers questions without making me feel rushed. The only reason for 4 vs. 5 stars is the difficulty in making an appointment lately. The portal doesn’t work. The phones do not seem to be getting answered. I mentioned this during my appointment (that I got because someone had just cancelled), and she said she was aware of the challenge for patients, and was making changes to front office management. Her best advice right now is to TEXT the office for an appt. I have been seeing her for 12+ years, and believe she is the best in the area, so she has my loyalty.

So far not been impressed with the customer service. Been trying to get a simple prescription issue resolved for the last 2 weeks and I have not been able to get a call or email back to resolve the issue. For me, it has been very difficult to get a person that knows what to do. The phone system is problematic and does not connect you to a live person. I question the professionalism and focus of the team.

the doctor is really nice. 2 stars off is due to 1) their office is impossible to contact, my husband and I had tried several calls to cancel an appointment, but no one picked up the phone. Unable to send a message in the portal since now it requires to fill in the recipient name but it is impossible to do (there is no options to select and the system does not accept the name you type in). 2) in my last visit (or last 2 visits), the waiting time is 30+ min passing the scheduled time.

Very frustrating experience. They subscribe a drug my insurance company doesn’t cover automatically and they sent my daughters prescription to a wrong pharmacy, and pretty much after we stepped out of their office, everyone including me, my insurance company, my pharmacy, no one can reach them or get them to return a call. I left maybe 5-6 voice messages no call back. Tried text, replied to me that the message was forwarded to the doctor and will be contacted, well no surprise, no call back. 2 months after my daughter’s visit, still no prescription, lucky my daughter’s condition got better without it. All the communication I received are asking for money. Short staffed is not an enough excuse to do this to a patient who’s sick, not someone waiting for their food at a restaurant.

The staff was knowledgeable and caring about my conditions. Dr. Hughes was patient while I went through a series of questions that were not particularly related to the issue at hand – and offered ‘over the counter’ solutions.

Update: ugh, I hate doing this because I do feel as if Dr. Hughes is a genuine person (see below review from months ago) but I’ve tried to be patient with the staff shortages, the phones being down and overall the healthcare surge after covid-19. But unfortunately I don’t feel like my needs are being met, and being predisposed to skin cancer I have toyed looking for a better fit for a few months. Something that is a huge headache is the amount of time waiting to speak with someone or getting a reply. I’ve left work in Seattle to physically drive to Mercer island to get answers. I feel as if this is beyond what I am expected to do as a patient so for that I have found a new dermatologist.

This Review is for the virtual appointment scheduling and doctors!, I can call their office 10xs a day and no one will pick I will leave 2 voicemails a day no one would respond back, once they do schedule your appointment they don’t give u a meeting link or instructions ever! They don’t even tell the name of the app(they don’t use zoom) , thank god they send appointment reminders but that’s about it, on the day of my appointment I would call them multiple times and check my miderm portal and it would give no instructions at all! They need to seriously improve this! I was called into the office at 11:46am and excused by the doctor at 11:57am that’s under 15 min!! They should atleast evaluate a patient for 30-40 min

The worst costumer service i have ever experienced!!!!!! No one is answering the calls(i was trying for 3 days, one of the days i called 17 times) no one getting back if you leave a message( i left 3 of them). Had to physically go to the office twice in the same day only to get a prescription refill, which was supposed to be automatically refilled. After all this, instead of apologizing i have been asked why am i so angry!!!!!
