Booked a pedicure here because I was staying in the area. Loved the decor (BIG fan of purple) and the comfortable and clean environment. Luisa was sweet and professional and did such a great job with the pedicure I opted for a basic manicure as well. Even though I may have to drive a bit to come back here, I will most certainly return!

I have gone every couple of weeks to this salon for facials and manicures for years. Each time I come for a sevice, the staff and management go above and beyond to provide a enjoyable clam spa like experience. I enjoy coming every few weeks for facials and pedicures with Pam. She spends a lot of time with her clients and takes great pride her work. I also come in every two weeks for uv gel fill in service with Fran who also goes out of her way to accommodate her clients schedules. She comes in an extra day a week to accommodate her clients like myself who work late and can’t make it for their fill in appointments during the work week. I very much appreciate the level of service the staff and management provide for their clients. I won’t go anyway where else to feel pampered and special. Ask for Pam and/or Fran when booking your appointment. You won’t regret it.

I have been going to Melo for the past 18 months and sadly it has been terrible ever since Bomee left. I have been using the same nail tech that whole time too. I called last week to get an appointment for my usual biweekly gel manicure with her but they told me they couldn’t book me with her because she was having issues showing up to work. I expressed my concern of booking with someone else since I had been so loyal to this one tech, and how awful I would feel if she was at the salon and I wasn’t booked with her. The manager told me she had to speak to upper management and she would “call me right back”. I never heard back from her, so the following day I called again and left a message for her to call me. I am still waiting… therefore I will be taking my business somewhere else. I feel horrible because I love my nail tech but the customer service at the salon is horrible without Bomee. She would never have not called me back, ever!!! She bent over backwards for all of us customers. The new leadership could care less, obviously. Really sad to see how a local business could spiral downhill so fast.

I have been going to Melo, previously Dashing Diva, for the better part of the last decade. The salon was always high quality over all, and Bomee was always a part of the business- once she took over and made the salon into a full spa the quality of all aspects increased even more. She has been gone for a few weeks now, assumingly onto better things but the snotty desk attendants won’t say where she is, and I am in shock as to the decline of the service, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere. The nail technicians do not put in nearly as much effort and they used to, and for the price it is absolutely no longer worth it. Not to mention, there is a talented woman of color who was a newer technician, and it is clear that the rest of the staff has a problem with her because of her skin color. I traveled a half hour every week for years to get my nails done at this salon, no where on long island was as good as they were and it was worth the trip. With Bomee gone, I will never go back to Melo, very disappointed in this rapid decline.

spring of this year, I had started going to Melo and fell in love with the place, staff and especially Bomee! My facials were always so enjoyable and I felt like I had been through a therapy session just being in Bomee’s presence. With Bomee gone, I’ve noticed a decline in the atmosphere and services, which led me to stop going. She is no longer there and it’s obvious that Bomee had set the standard for that place. I’m not sure who is managing the place now but it’s not the same anymore. I hope Bomee will have her own place again!

Bomee was the only reason I ever came here, and her facials were always top notch. Bomee was always personable, respectful, sweet and professional. I bought my mom a gift card for her birthday specifically for a facial with Bomee. She decided she wanted to finally use it last month, but I told her Bomee was no longer there and wasn’t sure if she could still use it. She tried calling the spa several different days and times and not one person answered the phone. She even emailed them, obviously upset she had 150 dollars on a gift card and couldn’t even book an appointment and use it. Finally one day I called and was able to book an appointment for her since I didn’t want 150 dollars to go to waste. My mom went and got her facial, and said it was just okay. I know if Bomee was still there, my mom would have loved it and it wouldn’t take days for someone to pick up the phone. Bring Bomee back.

I second the post before me. I went to this nail salon a handful of times before it changed hands. The decline in service is significant. I had issues with my last 2 appointments (since Bomee left) The latest one was not saved in the computer by the receptionists, even though I made it in-person. They were very reluctant to fit me in before an event I had this past weekend, even though it was their mistake. There was no manager present to help solve the problem. Overall, it just seems very disorganized. It’s clear to see that Bomee was the heart of the salon and without her, it’s no longer special. I think it’s odd to change ownership and not make customers aware. I also think it’s irresponsible as a business owner to leave new receptionists on their own, without a manager to help or guide them.

I had been going to Dashing Divas and Melo for the last few years and have always been so satisfied. They have always done a wonderful job and the front desk was excellent. I always knew what I’d get from Melo, especially with Bomee there. I was going back and forth about leaving a review but then I read what has been happening at Melo and felt like I should share. I had an appointment this past Friday for a gel soak and a manicure for 4PM. When I arrived at 4 for my appointment, there was a ton of confusion by the people at the front desk. I picked a color and was told I’d have to wait a few minutes. I waited about 20 minutes. The two ladies at the front desk apologized for the wait but did nothing to help the situation. They were not busy. I totally understand that some things take time and things happen but I had an appointment at 5:15 and picked 4pm for a reason. By the time I sat for the soak, it was 4:30 and I had to tell my technician that I was unable to stay for the manicure because I had to leave. The technician was wonderful (as always) and did a great job shaping my nails but I did not get what I wanted (a manicure) due to poor planning and disorganization at the front desk. The front desk staff did not ask to reschedule my manicure/really do anything besides say sorry. I just know the standard of Melo and the standard that Bomee had in place and was really surprised by this. I was super disappointed! I felt like my time was wasted. I know that a few months ago, that never would’ve happened or Bomee would’ve made it right. I don’t see myself going back to Melo unless Bomee is back.

Used to love coming to this place routinely. Ever since Bomee left it has been a disaster. Technicians are still great which is why its sad to see the store empty all the time compared to how packed it used to be. Management needs to get it together not the same vibe- very unfortunate. 12/21 I purchased a $50 Gift Card with cash as they charge a fee for using a credit/debit card. I waited for a receipt .. and was told by the Manager that they do not provide receipts for a cash transaction????? How is that legal?
