Would NEVER recommend anyone to this shop. They are highly unprofessional and rude. I had my artist replace my image twice and he simply said he couldn’t do my tattoo because I was being too picky. He then continued to get up and went over to another co-worker to talk badly about me all while I was still there. After being treated this way it made me never want to get a tattoo again. Now after being to other shops I have realized how your tattoo experience should be and how you should be treated. I’m writing this review because I simply don’t want someone else to be scarred like I was by this place. Great shops/artists are out there but this isn’t the place.

He kept me calm even though I was very nervous, and he kept a very clean and professional environment as well! They also have reptiles, which was awesome too! Tom did my tattoo, it’s a memorial for my Dad! He did an awesome job! The staff are all very nice and the atmosphere is great! The shop is very clean and it’s one of the nicest shops I’ve been in. I went in an made my appointment the evening before, I paid a $100 deposit and paid another $150 after my tattoo was finished. I also got a $50 gift card for next time or to give to someone because, they are running a holiday special! They also have some very cool stickers you can grab and cool T-shirts and hoodies you can purchase. My Husband and I are in Minnesota for his job and we usually go to the same artist where we live so, I was a little nervous but, Tom made us feel comfortable! Thank you Tom!

I got my very first tattoo here in 2020, for my graduation. I had Trent as my artist. It was a simple 2-3 inch tattoo, all linework, 2 colors. Trent wasn’t very friendly, didn’t take time to explain very much to me and spent 15 minutes total on my tattoo. I understand that I brought in my own design and it was relatively simple but he was careless and there are several parts of the tattoo that are smushed together because he wanted to just get it done. I asked before I sat down if I could have pink as my second color and he told me no, there isn’t such a thing as pink ink, and no he cannot mix a pink, so I ended up getting red. I recently went to a new shop to get a quote and after talking about my first tattoo experience they told me 1. Pink ink is definitely a thing and it was odd he refused. 2. I was overcharged as a first time client who didn’t know any better for a small tattoo. (This is something I cant confirm, but other people I know have multiple larger and more detailed tats for the price I paid here, from reputable shops like black coffin. Maybe the shop minimum here is higher and thats the reason? But every time I tell people how much I was charged they gasp and tell me I shouldnt have gone to whatever shop I went to.) I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t think it was that bad, and I know this is a well loved small business, but I would not recommend Trent and I did not have a very good first experience here. I didnt realize how bad it was until I went to a different shop and the artist was kind, helpful, explained things and worked with me on everything, which was the opposite of the experience I had here.

Highly recommend! If your getting something that’s permanent make sure to get the highest quality work possible; and at Mecca Tattoo they achieve this level or service. 100$ deposit/ and it’s little more expensive overall than a “budget” shop.
