My first visit to Doug was one by chance-I needed a haircut and there was Mayfield’s across the intersection. Sitting out front-a classic Chevy pickup, walk in the door and jump back in time to when that Chevy was brand new. A kind man with a welcoming smile standing at the chair (an uncommon sighting to see 25 minutes before closing on a Saturday). I told Doug what I liked and he got to work, we spoke about the history of the shop, my life, his life, plans for the holiday weekend, and swiftly the chair spun around and it was time to go. I paid a price that in this day and age was surprisingly affordable. He won my business and made it seem effortless. I walked out the door and returned to 2022, excited to go back in time when I’m ready for another haircut.

Extremely grateful that Doug has a very success business. The atmosphere is very family friendly and Doug’s welcoming smile will have you coming back, even if you don’t need a hair cut. You will definitely be a repeat customer. Doug ensures that the cut you requested is perfect and that you are completely satisfied. His prices are definitely budget friendly. To me, he could charge more and not lose not one customer. I love the way Doug carries a conversation and adds to one. His hours are very accommodating also. Ladies, no salon. Sorry. But your children will love the way Doug hooks them up.

This was my first visit to Mayfield’s. I had a fade haircut and beard trim. Doug Mayfield, the owner cut my hair and beard exactly as I had requested and I am totally satisfied, plus the price is very reasonable considering the prices charged at most competitive men’s haircutters.

If you’re looking for a good old fashioned barbershop, this is the place. It is cash only, but the prices are not bad at all. $13 for a haircut. The owner/barber was very friendly and definitely knows his clients. I was new, so he didn’t know me, but as I was getting my hair cut he greeted his other customers by name as they came in. He cut my hair just the way I liked it. Definitely going to come back.
