MAXx’s Shaving Room is privately owned and operated by Joanna Bereda, a licensed Barber and Cosmetologist with decades of experience. Joanna studied in Canada and also in the United States where she now continues a lifelong passion for making men look great. Joanna dedicated her love for the business to her father Michal who was a barber for sixty-five years. He taught her the trade and the wisdom to keep smiling. Joanna and her team of professionals have brought back the traditional Hot Shave as a modern concept and continue to introduce new and innovative skincare routines such as HydraFacial™ treatments for men.

I’ve been here before and have been happy with the service. However, I booked an appointment for my son a few days ago, drove over on time and was told upon arrival that Xavier was off sick and wasn’t turning up. The member of staff I spoke to said Xavier had sent out messages to the customers who had bookings with him. Given the fact we booked on-line and therefore they had all of our contact details, this clearly wasn’t the case as we were not notified at all. This is very poor in my view having wasted the best part of an hour on an unnecessary road trip during the busiest time of year. I won’t be booking with them again anytime soon.

This place is fantastic!. Ambiance is great, location is great and staff is great. I’ve always had an issue finding a place that does great at longer hair for guys while also taking care of the beard. Barber shops were my go to because they were great with beards, but always had an issue with the haircut with them not being accustomed to guys with longer hair. But this place is great at both. No longer do I have to sacrifice getting a good beard trim and a sub par haircut from a barber shop. This place is the best of both worlds.

Been going here since shortly after opening. I always look forward to seeing Joanna and her spunky self and never leave disappointed. Chris is my barber now but Joanna and Roger and everyone there is great. Highly recommend you go but make an appointment!

Best haircut I’ve had in a while! Their website was super convenient to book an appointment and I’m glad they don’t do walk-ins so there aren’t more people there than necessary during this covid time. I’m glad they are following covid protocol as not all places are now. Ainsley was an excellent barber and I enjoyed our conversation as well. Definitely going back!
