I asked for a pretty simple hair cut, almost like a short bob. My hair is/was already short and in the same shape I liked it as. It was my first time going here and I should have left right away when someone said they “kinda” cut someone’s hair. Anyway, I sit to get it cut and she gave me a bowl cut. On top of that it took an hour to do and cost almost $40. She got hair all over me and in my eyes too, worst experience ever had.

I wish I found this place sooner. Rudy and Paloma are great. A far better cut than I was receiving at Sport Clips the last three years. Very family friendly and locally owned. Maxie cut my wife’s hair as well and was very accommodating!

Maxie and Rudy the owners are awesome. They are very sweet and welcoming to everyone. They have been there I believe close to 10 years if not more. They have fair prices and do a great job on hair. My son and husband hate when they need a hair cut and have to go some where else besides Maxis. They prefer Maxie or Rudy cute their hair. Great, clean, friendly place.

Overall I am just disappointed. I had come here a couple times before and had my haircut by a younger girl with long black hair. I can’t remember her name but I thought she did well. The last time I went though did not turn out as well. I asked for a haircut that fell between my shoulders and chin with a good amount of layering and a face frame. The girl cutting my hair (I believe her name was Paloma) was very friendly, chatty, and nice. When she finished cutting it, I knew then I didn’t love it like I did all the past times. I didn’t know at first what I didn’t like, but knew there was something wrong. I got home and the first thing I noticed was that it was actually quite uneven. The right side of my hair was about 1/2 inch longer than the left. So I went back and she did fix that right away. This was the haircut that kept giving though. The longer I had it, the more I realized what was wrong. I checked the layers and while I asked for shorter layers, I noticed that the shortest layer was maybe an inch shorter than the longest. Because of this, all my hair lay in a huge chunk at the end and almost flared out despite endless amounts of styling. It was just too thick at the bottom. A few days later I realized that she also completely forgot to frame my face, which also added to the chunkiness. This all might have been fine if I had long hair, but my hair was short and so there was no weight to help fix some of the issues. A few more days, and I noticed that all of my hair was extremely uneven. For the bottom layer, the left was longer than the right in some areas, then in the next layer, the right was longer. It was just an uneven mess. All in all, I wasn’t mad, just very disappointed. There wasn’t much I could do to fix it either because it took me several days to notice all the things that were wrong with it. I just think that maybe she needs to improve her general technique? I’m not too sure. I just know I probably won’t go back. The worst part? I wasn’t paying attention when I tipped and ending up giving her a 30% tip so she probably thought she did amazing ♀️ Whoops.

Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueI was looking for a last minute hair salon nearby me and I found Maxi family hair salon in Hutto. I picked this location because it had a pretty good rating so I drove down. When I arrived I was surprised it was attached to a gas station but I thought well it’s last minute and it probably won’t be too pricey. This was not the case I actually just got my hair toned and conditioned. Also I asked for a trim of a half an inch. I was very unsatisfied the entire experience….. I was left with my hair in the sink laying backwards for over 30 minutes with the toner in my hair while my stylist disappeared, she then returned and she barely touched my hair while washing my hair was still dirty once I left. Upon cutting my hair she went to blow dry it first which was unusual and she halfway blow dried it and then cut just the back of my ends and it was uneven. She did not cut any other part of my hair. She then got the straightener while my hair was still damp and started putting the heat on my hair. Needless to say my hair was extremely frizzy and it looked worse than when I went in. I proceeded to pay for the service and to my surprise I was told my total bill was $135 dollars!!!!!!!! I was shocked I didn’t even get highlights or anything. I was so upset about the whole experience and the price because it definitely was not worth it. I went straight home and used my purple shampoo to take the brass color out that she put in my hair with her toner. Also my hair felt filthy and disgusting and I couldn’t wait to wash it…. I had to trim the rest of my own hair.
